Immortalised in popular music, culturally diverse Brooklyn has achieved almost legendary status. On the western end of Long Island, across the East River from Manhattan, this huge NYC borough is so densely populated that if it were a city, it would rank as the 4th largest in the US!
The borough is joined to Manhattan by 3 bridges: Williamsburg, Manhattan and the iconic Brooklyn Bridge. It is also linked to Staten Island by the lengthy Verrazano Narrows Bridge. Ocean-going liners pass under here before docking at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal in Red Hook. To the north-east, Brooklyn Bridge Park offers some of the best views of the Manhattan skyline, while south-east is the huge Prospect Park.
On one edge is Brooklyn Museum, the country’s 2nd largest art gallery, and just behind is the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens whose cherry trees bloom a vibrant pink. To the east are some hotels near JFK Airport, and there are more in neighbouring Queens.
At Brooklyn’s southernmost tip, Coney Island’s historic boardwalk has appeared in several films. Regeneration is underway to bring it back to its former glory, and the revamped Luna features a historic wooden rollercoaster. Also historic is the northern Greenpoint district with its elegant 19th-century houses.
Cheap Brooklyn hotels offer a good alternative to accommodation in Manhattan, so check Booking.com for the best deals.
Brooklyn is an amazing place. I was born and raised here and it has so much rich culture and amazing eateries. I would recommend having a substantial budget, as the changing economy, has allowed inflation to affect pricing. However, the experience was amazing. I would not recommend Sheraton Brooklyn on Duffield. Please avoid this hotel and the restaurant in the lobby, like the plague. Thank you.

I do not particularly like cities and I especially do not enjoy Manhattan. But Brooklyn, at least the Park Slope area, is the antithesis of Manhattan’s feel. It’s friendly, laid back, tree lined, and familial.

Wonderful NYC Borough, Brooklyn has great views, great subways, great city walking, great residents! Nice churches, museums, shops, restaurants.
The only downside was that it's quite a bit more expensive than it was the last time I visited in 2019. I hope that prices might decreased a bit soon

I just love the vibe of Brooklyn.
I just love the vibe of Brooklyn. Everywhere we went people were friendly. Like all places, you have to have common sense, and be aware of your surroundings, but we, in our later years (late 50s), had a great time at every spot we stopped in the Red Hook and Park Slope area. Loved Ocean's 8 Billiards for football and playing pool, air hockey. Gina, bartender, amazing! Park Slope 5th Avenue after show at Barclay's great for bar hopping, young and old, very eclectic.

Positives
Brooklyn is nice but it's a little bit of a walk to get to the vibrant places which seem to improve the more north you go.
Brooklyn heights, Dumbo, Williamsburg all places with loads of shops, boutiques; The slopes are near and also have a host of restaurants which is great.
There are some interesting brownstone properties nearby
The rooms are pretty good/clean. Bathrooms clean.
The Even has nice clean rooms with walk-in shower. All Excellent!
The frontdesk team Charisse and Tiffany provided excellent service at all days!
The breakfast Guy Yazza is a born professional, it was a pleasure having - fresh made - breakfast and I felt so welcome and supported.
Overall this is the best Hotel in Brooklyn currently, safe area, Metro around the corner........6 Stars
The location is great. Situated close to 3 tube/subway stations in Downtown Brooklyn, easy access to food court at the shopping centre across the small park in front. There are few other options to eat around at reasonable price. It is about 15min walking distance to the Dumbo, a nice area with food court and bars with overlooking to the Brookiyn Bridge and Manhattan.
We were surprised how expensive New York hotels have become but we eventually found Henry Norman in Brooklyn and found it to be a real treat. The hotel offers a low cost very acceptable breakfast and although no evening restaurant, the Brooklyn area is plastered with cheap, very good takeaways which although not the Ritz were safe, fun and even quirky.
