We were specifically looking for a more local vibe outside of Manhattan, and this place was a perfect 10/10! Our stay exceeded all expectations. The room was spacious and beautifully decorated—not like the repetitive, cookie-cutter design of big chain hotels, but with real attention to detail. It felt incredibly welcoming and comfortable. We loved waking up every morning to the city view from our balcony.
While the location does require a 10-minute walk to the nearest subway stations, it's easy to get anywhere in the city from there.
The staff were kind and very helpful throughout our stay. Highly recommended!

Immortalised in popular music, culturally diverse Brooklyn has achieved almost legendary status. On the western end of Long Island, across the East River from Manhattan, this huge NYC borough is so densely populated that if it were a city, it would rank as the 4th largest in the US!
The borough is joined to Manhattan by 3 bridges: Williamsburg, Manhattan and the iconic Brooklyn Bridge. It is also linked to Staten Island by the lengthy Verrazano Narrows Bridge. Ocean-going liners pass under here before docking at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal in Red Hook. To the north-east, Brooklyn Bridge Park offers some of the best views of the Manhattan skyline, while south-east is the huge Prospect Park.
On one edge is Brooklyn Museum, the country’s 2nd largest art gallery, and just behind is the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens whose cherry trees bloom a vibrant pink. To the east are some hotels near JFK Airport, and there are more in neighbouring Queens.
At Brooklyn’s southernmost tip, Coney Island’s historic boardwalk has appeared in several films. Regeneration is underway to bring it back to its former glory, and the revamped Luna features a historic wooden rollercoaster. Also historic is the northern Greenpoint district with its elegant 19th-century houses.
Cheap Brooklyn hotels offer a good alternative to accommodation in Manhattan, so check Booking.com for the best deals.

I would have done more , if i planned a little better, biking would have been a good option to get around locally and more details directly around the hotel, we found most things but a detailed note would have been nice.

Overpriced.
Overpriced. Pod Brooklyn is in a perfect location and they know it. The hotel offers you nothing but a prime location. They are not concerned with the comfort of their guests.
When I asked why the rooftop bar, restaurant, and other rooftop locations were closed, one staff member told me, “it’s not my problem”. He suggested I speak to a manager. When I asked where I could find one, he laughed and said, “they’re never here.”

New Lots Brooklyn is a residential area with a few local shops/bodegas and the odd cheap restaurant- think Dunkin' Donuts! We did find a great pizza shop - very basic but the food was fab.
This area is quiet save for a few cars driving around with the stereo on full blast.
Like all of New York, the area reeks of dope!

Loads of great bars, cafes, shops and restaurants to explore alongside the parks and walks. Only a 10 minute subway into Manhattan when needed too. Definitely the best area to stay whilst visiting New York. More chilled out and relaxed than being in the centre of Manhattan. The ease of the subway means you can get around Williamsburg, Red Hook, Bushwick etc. in no time at all and then down to Coney Island in about 45 minutes.

I stayed in New York for two weeks in total.
I stayed in New York for two weeks in total. For the first 11 days I stayed in Midtown Manhattan and the last 3 in Brooklyn. I loved it there and wish I stayed for more days. The neighbourhood was amazing, nice shops, restaurants and bars and the vibe in general was super.

It is well located to explore many areas by foot.
It is well located to explore many areas by foot. Very comfortable hotel, good breakfast and really helpful staff. Having a bar/restaurant in the hotel was most useful, particularly on my first evening then I didn’t feel up to looking for somewhere to eat.
The area itself has little to offer, but it’s not far to walk to Dunbo, Brooklyn Heights. Carroll Gardens, Prospect park and Park Slope to name only a few. Around the corner in Gold Street Botte is a lively and lovely Italian restaurant.
The Even has nice clean rooms with walk-in shower. All Excellent!
The frontdesk team Charisse and Tiffany provided excellent service at all days!
The breakfast Guy Yazza is a born professional, it was a pleasure having - fresh made - breakfast and I felt so welcome and supported.
Overall this is the best Hotel in Brooklyn currently, safe area, Metro around the corner........6 Stars
The hotel had a good vibe - the atmosphere was alive with music in the evenings! Quaint rooms with some artistic influences in the decor - guitars on the wall, turntables in the room, frig looking like a jukebox etc. Staff was extremely friendly - from the wonderful doorman to the front desk personnel. Extremely well located within Brooklyn - at least for waht we needed.
he location of the hotel was perfect, we were a 5 minute walk from the Brooklyn Bridge and the subways were a 3 minute walk away. The neighborhood was great. There were plenty of restaurants and shops and the traffic was calm.
