Was traveling to participate in the NYRR Brooklyn Marathon and only regret was I didn't have another day or two to explore the area. Lots of great restaurants/bars, easy to get around via bikes/walking/public transportation, LOTS of green/outdoor public spaces to enjoy.
First time we stayed in Brooklyn. North Williamsburg area. Great restaurants, bagels and bakeries. Hung out in Bedford area. We used the ferry to cross over to Manhattan. Fantastic weather afforded great views. G train straight to Prospect Park. Rode citibikes through the park.
This location is close to several subway stations, a big plus! It is also walking distance to the Brooklyn Bridge, Manhattan Bridge as well as Little Italy and China Town. We discovered Dekalb Market close by, which is similar to the Chelsea market with all the different food stalls. Our favorite thing to eat there was the hand roll place. The market is within a mall that has Trader Joe's and Target, among other department stores. Another close by gem was Mia's bakery, which we frequented every night after dinner. You will find so many different dessert to satisfy any sweet tooth cravings. Within walking distance were the dollar pizza, can't remember the name as well as a Mexican place, Guac Time. I would avoid those as the food wasn't very good.
Maria Hernandez Park; Domino Sugar Park both excellent. 2d for incredible architecture, walk/run right next to river. Former for watching incredibly diverse activities by lots of people, all having fun. Also Bklyn Botanical Garden interesting and beautiful in late April.
Enjoyed the Italian restaurant close by called Botte Brooklyn. Excellent food and so reasonable too. Fairly close walking distance to the Manhatten and Brooklyn Bridge. Also a CVS pharmacy within walking distance.
LOTS TO DO! LOTS of great restaurants. We enjoyed the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens, Brooklyn Musem, a play at Brooklyn Academy of Music. We ate twice at a fairly close (we took a Lyft) restaurant called Desin's - Morrocan food- impeccable service, delicious food, relaxed atmosphere, just wonderful. Went to a Springsteen concert at the Barclays. My friend walked across Brooklyn Bridge & met me in Chinatown. Airports were fairly easy to reach, via LYFT or subway. Could have easily spent a month there with all there is to do if we had the time. Getting around is easy if you can walk a few blocks. It was easy to get LYFTs when we couldn't. My friend took the subway easily & I saw lots of buses but we didn't take any. People were very friendly.
First thing first, I love any hotel that provides free breakfast, so that was a plus! The hotel itself was nice and in a convenient location in downtown Brooklyn. The staff was nice and very accommodating. There was a hiccup in our first room when he checked our closet someone's undergarment was left behind. When we call the front desk they did not hesitate to get us a new room. The room had a nice spacious king bed which was super comfy. Overall my stay was short but still a comfortable stay and I would return again.
Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn
The appartment was very clean and equipped with everything that is needed. We enjoyed very much living like a "Brooklynite" instead of staying in an anonymous hotel. The neighbourhood is - compared to NY standards - relatively quite, friendly and safe. We never met the host in person, but Vinneth was always responding fast to messages. It is possible to store the baggage after checkout time - great service.
Positives Brooklyn is nice but it's a little bit of a walk to get to the vibrant places which seem to improve the more north you go. Brooklyn heights, Dumbo, Williamsburg all places with loads of shops, boutiques; The slopes are near and also have a host of restaurants which is great. There are some interesting brownstone properties nearby The rooms are pretty good/clean. Bathrooms clean.
I loved everything in this hotel. The atmosphere, the terrace with the views, the spacious and spotless room with all amenities. Also the staff was very fast at responding to my requests and was very helpful. I really like staying in Brooklyn when heading to NYC and the Henry Norman will certainly be my go to place from now on.
Basic hotel close to the metro (9th Av.) in Brooklyn. Price/Quality is my main positive point. I had a room on the road side and there was quite some noice that entered my room. Good location also near the cemetary for a morning jog/walk. The personnel was very nice and made I good impression.
Just a few blocks to the subway. Easy walk to Dumbo with many bars and restaurants. We walked from the hotel across the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges. Bed was very comfortable. Front desk staff was helpful when needed.
The location, as depicted on Bookings.com, is a joke. In Brooklyn, you have people on top of people yet the picture of the hotel must have been from a drone at midnight with light photo-shopped in.
We loved our stay at the hoxton. The room was immaculate and just the right size for us, the hotel ameneties and bar were great and the location is perfect within Brooklyn and close to the subway.
This is my favorite hotel in Downtown Brooklyn. The staff are so warm and friendly, I feel at home. It is clean, very comfortable and quiet. Incredible value. What a gem in Brooklyn!
Quirky hotel.... its nice. If you want to experience Brooklyn and stay close enough to Manhatten, can recommend.
The location of this hotel was very convenient to restaurants, the subway line and the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal.
it was a clean hotel, well-located in Williamsburg. the staff was nice. Great for solo-travelers.
