We got super lucky with our stay. The hotel exceeded our expectations! The room was spacious and comfortable (great beds!). It had complimentary breakfast and some daily credits to spend on the bar. The location was perfect for us, neighbourhood super viby with lots of cool shops and restaurants and you have two different subway (7 min walk) stations to choose depending on your destination. We totally recommend!

The hotel is truly beautiful and modern. Both rooms as well as breakfast area. Pictures show reality. Staff was very helpful and attentive. We did not request the room to be cleaned every day but when we ran out of coffee, they delivered it immediately at no cost. Complimentary bottle of wine was a nice benefit. At the check in they charged a deposit of 200 usd per room but few days after check out it was fully refunded. We had breakfast included in the room price and having read multiple hotel reviews I was expecting a terrible offer and service. However, on the contrary it was good! We stayed 7 days in total and the first 3 days were quite strange with a very limited offer but anyway acceptable and fresh (granola, fruits). The remaining days we could select from full menu and size of the dishes was even too big... Overall, above expectations! Definitely very good value! Great connection to Manhattan, tube station 2 minutes away by walk...very convenient. Restaurants and real live Brooklyn experience 10 minutes walk distance.

The William Vale hotel is located in the vibrant Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn. When you travel, there are always some things you're not used to and some things that are different than you imagined, but that's the magic of travel - accepting your new home for what it is and looking for the positive. We love New York and we love Brooklyn with all that goes with it. We can confirm that the William Vale is the perfect hotel and we enjoyed our three week stay to the max. We really appreciate the friendly and helpful staff who responded immediately to our every request. Our room had a large balcony and an incredible view of Brooklyn and Manhattan, and we spent all our mornings and evenings there. The pool is wonderful, visiting it has its pitfalls, but if you find out how everything works, make your reservation early and also arrive on time, you will be delighted. The Leuca restaurant is a super bonus if you're hungry late at night and don't feel like going to the other great restaurants in the area. We will definitely be back and we are already missing it. Thank you.

Brooklyn FAQ: Tips for every trip

The Giant of New York

Immortalised in popular music, culturally diverse Brooklyn has achieved almost legendary status. On the western end of Long Island, across the East River from Manhattan, this huge NYC borough is so densely populated that if it were a city, it would rank as the 4th largest in the US!

The borough is joined to Manhattan by 3 bridges: Williamsburg, Manhattan and the iconic Brooklyn Bridge. It is also linked to Staten Island by the lengthy Verrazano Narrows Bridge. Ocean-going liners pass under here before docking at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal in Red Hook. To the north-east, Brooklyn Bridge Park offers some of the best views of the Manhattan skyline, while south-east is the huge Prospect Park.

On one edge is Brooklyn Museum, the country’s 2nd largest art gallery, and just behind is the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens whose cherry trees bloom a vibrant pink. To the east are some hotels near JFK Airport, and there are more in neighbouring Queens.

At Brooklyn’s southernmost tip, Coney Island’s historic boardwalk has appeared in several films. Regeneration is underway to bring it back to its former glory, and the revamped Luna features a historic wooden rollercoaster. Also historic is the northern Greenpoint district with its elegant 19th-century houses.

Cheap Brooklyn hotels offer a good alternative to accommodation in Manhattan, so check Booking.com for the best deals.

Probably the best balance of accessibility and cost in NYC.

Probably the best balance of accessibility and cost in NYC. Within easy reach of Manhattan and JFK airport but the hotels are not that costly plus it is really easy to get around thanks to the subway. Also this is a safe borough and getting around at odd hours is not an issue at all. Highly recommended for an affordable (but not budget) stay.

Williamsburg, Brooklyn is great!

Williamsburg, Brooklyn is great! Easy access to Manhattan, great restaurants, bakeries, cute shops. You get a home-y and different view of New York. Walk along the river to see Manhattan! Go to Peter Luger for great steaks and Minetta Tavern in the Village for a quintessential NY experience. Go to Nick & Son for delicious croissants- especially the za'ataar croissant. Start your day with bagels from one of the many bagel shops- my favorite is Bagelsmith. Or my favorite, a bacon, egg and cheese on a roll - always reminds me of NYC, can't get it anywhere outside of NYC. Bring your walking shoes so you can walk around and explore Brooklyn.

We were stopping in Brooklyn to visit a child after a visit to New England. We stayed long enough to take them out to dinner at Nin Hao, which was fun, and to have breakfast. Getting around in Brooklyn is a challenge. we parked our car when we checked into the motel and used Uber. The subway doesn't go from Downtown Brooklyn to where they live directly. Next time we go we're going to try taking the bus because it seems to be more direct. We enjoyed the street scene in Downtown Brooklyn, lots of people out doing Saturday afternoon errands. Unlike the bike lanes in my community, the bike lanes in Brooklyn have riders in them. When crossing streets be sure to look for bikes because they sometimes appear out of nowhere!
