United KingdomGreat cabins in a quiet setting despite being near busy road. The whole cabin was exceptionally clean, well equipped with a decent tub, separate shower and a very good bed. I asked for some fresh milk for my tea and in a jiffy it was provided. The newish owners seem to relish dealing with the great unwashed travelling public...something I did in my own hospitality business for 15 years. A credit to them both and also their excellent staff. Our cabin was set slightly away from the others and thus I relaxed naked in the swinging chair whilst supping some local vino and reading in the sunshine. DEEP JOY!

This is a great place to hike and great brewery’s and food.
This is a great place to hike and great brewery’s and food. Thunder Island Brewery was a fun place with great food and beer. The Gorges beer company was amazing as well. Whiskey Flats Tavern is a fun place, great food and delicious organic root beer. We really enjoyed Bridgeside breakfast and delicious lunch and homemade desserts.

The store closed at 8 pm and most of the meat products were...
The store closed at 8 pm and most of the meat products were beyond pull dates and grey not edible. not a lot of variety, produce was not in great shape either had mold. The restaurants and bars all closed early some by 8 not able to get food or drink. no entertainment for a tourist town this is disappointing.

The room was clean but furnishings were old and the mattress was ready for replacement.
If you seek a lower priced, one night option, while spending a day
seeing the Columbia River gorge.. keep in mind there is nothing luxurious to be found here.

I have extended family history here and learn new things...
I have extended family history here and learn new things with every visit. We skipped the museum this time because of 4th of July madness. GREAT fireworks and some viewing areas allow you to see across the river where Stevenson is also putting on a show. The old Cascade Inn is just sad. But- the town looks to be trying to do a facelift. The new arcade is a cute idea, although we didn't go inside. That Chinese Food place hasn't been open for as far back as I can remember. LOVE the brewpubs and the upgraded former Charburger although it is the same style ordering process. Exploring the area is a treasure trove. Hiking and river sports seems to be the main draw. A drive into Hood River for shopping and seeing the beautiful historical houses is a must- Both brewhouses have great food and of course you cannot leave without an ice cream cone from the burger stand! It's the best I've ever enjoyed!

If you are a couple, don't get Unit 8 (Sleeps 2).
If you are a couple, don't get Unit 8 (Sleeps 2). Nothing wrong with it, it is just more suitable for a single person. Only 1 chair in room and no place to sit and eat or read. I would stay here again, but just upgrade to more room. Owners really care about the place and the upkeep is perfect. Peaceful place. BBQ area with table for 6 outside. Blackberries on fence near BBQ area.

The cabin was even nicer than I expected. Immaculately clean and well appointed, easy for me to make my own meals in the kitchen, and had a great night's sleep in the very comfortable bed. With a backdrop of beautiful, cloud-covered mountains right behind the cottages, you are still just two minutes away from stores and restaurants in Cascade Locks with easy access to I-84, hiking on the Pacific Crest Trail, and the Bridge of the Gods. Overall great experience with this long-running family-owned business.

The view! We were able to get a 4th floor room, we expected problems with the train underneath but really didn't notice it, in fact the fridge was louder.
We were going to book an historic hotel wogh beautiful gardens nearby, which was much more expensive. We visited that hotel and were glad that we didn't; that hotel has the trains screech-braking at that point, plus on the other side, it has heavy highway traffic noise. We were very happy with this hotel and the view!

Great location in Cascade Locks within walking distance of everything in town and within driving distance of multiple trailheads. Room was spacious and well-equipped. All the staff were fantastic, helpful, polite, and my room was spotless.
