This is a town you drive through or overnight on a long trip...

This is a town you drive through or overnight on a long trip. Except for the Carlsbad Caverns 3 and 1/2 hours south there is nothing there besides the Cannon Air Force base, cattle ranches and tumble weeds. We were only there to visit our grandson who is ready to be deployed overseas.

I was looking at property and was very pleasantly surprised by catching the Christmas parade in Portales!! Was fabulous! People are very friendly. Although Clovis is not for me. Even though it blew me away….. literally!! To much wind

Don’t think I had any complaints if only I would have gotten...

Don’t think I had any complaints if only I would have gotten a room closer to the elevators on the second floor and the bottom floor closet the office other than that I have no issues like I said, they did have an extra blanket in the room. I did not have to call and request for one, but the mattress was very comfortable that I did like. I slept very well.

Clovis is a very friendly place.

Clovis is a very friendly place. I would highly recommend a honky tonk downtown with bottled domestic beer and name brand hard liquors....... I think Uber and Lift drivers could make a killing......there were none available and it way quite the challenge to find transportation to and from the airport........no problem, we made it work, however, it was too close for comfort......

Actually, this stay was at the very beginning of my permanent move to Clovis and as I searched for a home. Clovis is much bigger and more pleasant than I expected. I am pleasantly surprised. I had heard much said of how friendly and family-appropriate Clovis is before moving here, and it has so far proven to be just that.

Clovis is not a destination.

Clovis is not a destination. It is stopping point going to northern New Mexico's ski areas. Numerous restaurants. Do not miss Leal's for some great Mexican food. Be aware the highway location is under renovation, but the Prince Street restaurant is worth the short drive.
