The staff gave us dog blankets and dog treats for my pets. Very Pet Friendly hotel. The breakfast in the morning was excellent. They had a soup du jour throughout the entire day and a ice coffee station to enjoy. Highly recommend you stay here.

We only stayed here because the hotels were less expensive than in Bar Harbour. We should have made a better choice. This town is OK in general and has essential businesses for all common needs. It is conveniently located for nearby sights.

The location is good at Ellsworth.

The location is good at Ellsworth. It is close by to Walmart, lots of place to eat. The townhouse is perfect for family stay. The amenities were great for preparing your own meal. The facility is great but needed updating to modernized. There is plenty of space for family usage. Acadia National Park is about 30 minutes away.

Ellsworth is a great smaller town for shopping, eating, and experiencing a little Maine culture, without heavy traffic (in May.) It's a friendly community. Health facilities, healthy food, decent hotels, fairly clean parks, large children's park, boat docking facility on the river, some interesting architecture and history. I recommend it for a low-stress stopover.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Ellsworth, Maine—from its perfect proximity to Acadia National Park to the small-town charm that made each day feel special. One of our favorite memories was indulging in MoMo’s cheesecake in the middle of the night, a delicious and unexpected treat. While we didn’t care much for Helen’s Pot Roast, everything else—from the local food scene to the ease of getting around—was truly grand. Ellsworth served as the ideal base for our coastal Maine adventure.

Ellsworth is outside of Arcadia National Park and a great starting place to travel around the eastern shore line. We took a trip to Baxter State park and was able to travel other roads back to the motel seeing more of the state,

The restaurants are all family owned and were fabulous. We ate at Helen's, Governors, Union Lobster Pot, Jordan's Snack Shack. Getting around was great, there is a big Walmart and a grocery store within 5 minutes.

A nice hotel and nice room, which had a fridge freezer and a microwave. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. In the lobby of the hotel there was a machine that you could be used to make coffee and tea any time of the day. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was quite basic but filling: in the lobby you could make toast, and there was porridge, cereal, fruit, yoghurt and juices, which you could take to your room. It was a good place from which to explore the Acadia National park.

My first ever time to Maine (and the East Coast) was most enjoyable. The hotel room was very clean, the bed quite comfortable, location superb, and the staff met every expectation. We stayed our previous night in Augusta but wish, now, that we'd booked both nights in Ellsworth. I would definitely recommend the Colonial Inn Ellsworth to any who come to enjoy Maine.
