We thought we could travel but do to a landslide it took us 3 hrs extra to get to the cabin. No one’s fault just bad timing. Also the city is way to crowded for me! I remembered Gatlinburg from 10 years ago. Parking was a expensive and a challenge. Just overcrowded.

The bad-I really miss the Gatlinburg of the 80s through the early 2000s when you didn't have to fight through the crowds EVERYWHERE you went! Family-owned businesses were the norm, and you could drive up and down the strip relatively easy. You didn't have to wait forever to get seated for a meal either.
The Good
You have to visit the Great Smoky Mountains! Be prepared to get wet in the river and take the route to Cherokee, NC. It is truly a wonderful park and the views are majestic, to say the least.

We had a wonderful stay at Greystone which was a great location. We spent the 4th on the main strip, went to ripleys museum it was so interesting, ate at Smith & Sons, the service was fast and food very good , we did moonshine stop at Sugarlands ( Matt was our guy, so fun) and we sang Happy Birthday to my husband. We drove and saw beautiful nature, old cabins and a bear. We unfortunately received unexpected news and had to cut our trip short but our one full day we had was a very happy one for us and we will go back.

Gatlinburg is a fun little mountain town.
Gatlinburg is a fun little mountain town. It gets very crowded on the weekends so we prefer to visit in the week. The traffic can get very slow moving, especially on Friday and Saturday. There is something there for everyone.
Good location. Comfortable and clean bed. We travel to Gatlinburg mainly to hike and eat the great quality of foods offered in the area. The cottage we were in was right on the river, and we liked the scenery a lot. Other than that, bathroom was clean and the place was overall convenient.
Loved how you keep fire pits on at all times and keep pools open and food until 11!!!!
A lot of hotels close a littler earlier and I really enjoyed it and would stay again. Staff doesn’t really bother you and lets you have a good time! Major plus
The accommodation is very nicely located directly on the river. Balcony overlooking the river. Sufficient parking spaces available. Good places to go out in the immediate vicinity.
Overall, a nice stay.
Walking distance to all Gatlinburg attractions. Hotel was friendly, clean and had been remodeled a few years ago. Highly recommended especially for the price.
