Best places to eat are The Old Mill Restaurant in Pigeon Forge - great good, large quantity, good pricing and service. Delauder's BBQ on rt 321 has the best pulled pork in the area and pricing is excellent. Anakeesta is long wait to get in if you are not their before 10:00 am. Expensive and is more for families because lots for kids to do. Beautiful views, stores they over priced. The candle shop in the Village on Gatlinburg strip is great.. You gotta try the Donut Friar also.
I love the beautiful mountain views and the atmosphere of the small town with all the shops and restaurants up and down the strip. It is as beautiful at night with all the lights. There are plenty of benches to sit if you get tired of walking. The view of the mountains and the town from the Sky Walk are awesome! Even though it's the middle of summer, I love to do my Christmas shopping there because there are so many unique gifts that you just don't find anywhere else!
If you stay in a hotel on the strip it makes it so much easier to enjoy activities. If you try to drive and park you will be in traffic all night long. There are so many things to do there, however plan to wait in line long times to get to the attraction.
we went to gatlinburg just for the Smokey Mountain National park. We drove through Gatlinburg but the traffic was bad and too many people on sidewalks not wearing any mask - not good in pandemic. Easy to get to the park, go to grocery stores or to Pigeon Forge..
The hiking was great. There was marijuana smells all throughout the city of Gatlinburg which was very upsetting and not what I wanted around my children. Will definitely visit the mountains again, but not Gatlinburg.
The best part is that you are right next to the Smoky National Park. The city is small a very tourist like. Lots of hokey businesses on the main street that take away from the beauty of the location. Chesapeake Seafood restaurant was the best place to eat.
Though it was on the Gatlinburg strip it was at the main end up a side road and tucked back into a corner. Walked the strip from the hotel but it is quiet a walk. The room price is cheap so you get what you pay for. It was quiet the staff was friendly and helped when our key cards to our room wouldn’t work. There is a microwave and mini fridge.
Comfortable beds & pillows, fresh & clean rooms, quality shampoo, conditioner & soap, abundant breakfast, friendly staff & excellent location. If only they had Nespresso in the rooms instead of keurig :) This is a quality hotel. I need never stay anywhere else in gatlinburg

The river by the hotel, how convenient it was to get to downtown
Hotel location, lobby and facilities were great.
The hotel is very well maintained, it is old but beautifully looked after. I loved the rocking chairs on the veranda so you could watch the world go by and on your own balcony. The bathroom was immaculate. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good.
The apartment was amazing. Very clean. Staff was awesome. Down town Gatlinburg is in walking distance but you could never tell when your in your room watching the water roll by. We will be back!

The location, and the atmosphere. The pool and the fireplace outside was nice. The bathroom was very spacious. The staff made you feel at home.
