AustraliaThe property was very nice, spacious rooms and located in a great area to explore Gettysburg! Free parking was great, so many places to park and the lobby was quite large also! Laundry was a bonus for us, however it was quite a walk as located in the other hotel but was still better than not having one at all! Cool to have slot machines in the lobby as well for guests to utilise. The option to order room service from the restaurant was definitely great as well and the beds were very comfortable!

Gettysburg is beautiful. So much to see and do. We did the Auto Drive Tour and a walking tour. We had our car but were able to walk many places. Lunchtime we ate at the Honey Bee. We were in town for a wedding. Three nights was not enough.

The battlefield is a must visit for people that are interested in History. I recommend a tour from a licensed guide. I also recommend taking a tour around the town of Gettysburg to learn about how civilians had to cope with a battle in their town.

Hotel room had no smoke detector-it had been taken off the ceiling because they didn't have a battery for it. HUH?? When I reported it, the maintenance guy was supposed to attend to it but didn't. I was not given a different room with a working detector. It is against Building codes and fire codes to not have a working smoke detector.
Then the indoor pool was ice cold and had big bugs in it. He tried to shoo them to the side but had no net to pick them up. I picked this hotel BECAUSE it had a heated indoor pool. There was nothing for my grandkids to do while they were there.
The Heat/AC was so noisy I had to turn it off completely and had to use the comforters from both beds to be warm. Upstairs there were people stomping around until the wee hours of the morning. And the bathroom had only one operable switch--the switch part of the other was completely missing. The curtains had ripped /worn patches and I faced the parking lot. A bit creepy.
I stayed here about 20 months ago and had an issue with cleanliness and they assured me that, as the new owners, they were taking steps to improve the hotel. This visit the hotel was actually worse!

The Gettysburg battlefield and tour opportunities are wonderful. The museum and displays were exceptional. The restaurants and shops in town were great. The ghost tours and ghost stories were carnival and mostly silly.

I will return to Gettysburg again.
I will return to Gettysburg again. The whole area is beautiful. The fact that one of the deadliest battles in American history took place in such a pleasant little town is sad. There are still so many bullet holes in the buildings and the amount of suffering that took place is incomprehensible. Today, the battlefield and National Cemetery are serene and gorgeous. We loved that some of the town's residents dressed in authentic Civil War apparel simply because they loved their town and wanted to carry on the traditions of the Civil War era. The Visitor's Center's film, cyclorama and battlefield tours are a must. Restaurants for every palate and price are plentiful. We ate at Sign of the Buck, the Dobbin House and the Blue & Gray Sports Bar. Very different venues with different price ranges. What all three had in common was delicious food and great service. From the duck at the Dobbin House to the burgers at Blue & Gray it was a foodies' delight.

We enjoyed the walking tour.
We enjoyed the walking tour. We were able to go at our own pace and take whatever amount of time we wanted at each site. The brochure that accompanies the walking tour was very hepful to have. We had the brochure mailed to us before our trip to Gettysburg.

Location was good for our visit to Gettysburg however when we booked we did not realise it was memorial weekend, as we are not from the USA. Hotel was very full, loads of kids running everywhere which made it quite noisy. Did not even attempt breakfast as too crowded, WiFi was almost non existent obviously due to the amount of people using it.

Well designed, historic building, lot of public area, amazing library of Civil War books- great for History fans. Annate was so kind and upgraded us to the Lincoln Suite which was marvelous. She was also very helpful in providing us with helpful information about restaurants and sites.
