Breakfast was not included in our package but we did eat in the nearby restaurant which was varied and delicious. The room was huge as was the bed and sooo comfortable. Gettysburg is a beautiful, historic town and feels very safe, walkable too.

Loved everything about this facility. Big, spacious, luxurious, suites. Large breakfast area with a great selection of food and the server was very friendly. Great location, with restaurants and shopping within walking distance and I believe the pool / jacuzzi area was open until 10 or 11 pm.

We did it all in one day but probably should have planned on...

We did it all in one day but probably should have planned on two. The museum was a great place to start. Note that you do have to pay for museum, film and cyclorama that is talked up ($20+ for all three or $15+ for just museum.) We did just the museum and kind of rushed through it- and it still took over an hour. LOTS to see and read and learn!! The we went into downtown and had lunch on the street in the square, walked down Baltimore for some history there (pretty cool stuff) then went back to museum and did the auto tour. Again, we took about 3/4 hours on the tour but kind of rushed through the stops. If I got to do this trip again- I would do a day at the Museum then another day for the Auto Tour and really take time with each exhibit and stop. Plan in walking and if you are up for stairs- climb the stairs for high up view when you can! Gorgeous views!! We also had dinner at the Dobbin house- very neat historical home- dinner was pricey but very good! Worth it for sure!

Of course very cozy town rich in history telling a human story of America's most brutal war. Local People and at The Federal Pointe Inn where we stayed were very friendly and full of energy. I would highly recommend the Heartfelt Diner. Great Food at a very reasonable price had us going back for more every morning. As for touring I would definitely visit the Gettysburg Museum and take the bus tour for the full experience.

There is so much to see that you must be meticulous about...

There is so much to see that you must be meticulous about planning. The Visitor Center and Museum are absolute musts to start your visit. Make sure to leave a lot of time for the Battlefield touring, It is not a place to rush.

Gettysburg is a great place to visit for families, history buffs or anyone who likes to walk around the town for shopping and to learn about the history of the area. The Battlefield tour is great driving, biking or hiking.

Be prepared for NO free parking near what you want to see.

Be prepared for NO free parking near what you want to see. The parking meters are terrible (and the locals agree). If touring the battle field, go with the tour guide in your vehicle (and ask if you can get Erik - he is the absolute best tour guide).

Gettysburg is a huge tourist destination between the college and the battlefield and Eisenhower commemoratives. There are restaurants and shops of every type. If a person is into camping and that sort of thing, the beautiful mountains are nearby.

Great location, free parking. All the staff were pleasant and helpful - clear with their directions/suggestions. It was nice to walk around the area surrounding the inn. It's a pretty touristic area. The breakfast was simple but filling. We stayed only one night but wish we stayed 1 night more. Price was actually cheap since we got a spacious room, clean and comfortable. We were located at the 2nd floor by the road but it was quiet at night.

Staff was great and welcoming. It's an older property, but it smelled clean and the linens and bedsheets were clean. Could the decor be updated? Sure, but for the price and location I would return. If you're looking for a good location, at an amazing rate then this is it. Bonus, it was close to soccer fields for a tournament and close to downtown Mainstreet in Gettysburg.

We checked into the hotel, went into our room and it was filthy. We went to the front desk immediately to let them know we were not comfortable staying there with our two children. They refused to refund our money and we left.

A little primitive only problem was that a taxi was hard to comeby not the hotels fault breakfast was superb but. Lack of cabs makes the stay difficult the rabbit transit was a great improvement
