The Harrisonburg Motel 6 on Main Street has a large lawn area where people can relax. You can take a pretty long walk around the property. It's on a highway with a Cracker Barrel nearby. There are many kinds of restaurants within Harrisonburg....it's a "college town". Getting around by car is fairly easy.

The pics on the website were not what this hotel offered at all!! Very disappointed with cleanliness and bathroom shower was filthy too. I don't recommend staying here. I was not happy. Sketchy people outside too. Only thing good was the location.

Already reported about our stay - additionally forgot to mention they charged $2.71 more than the quoted price. Not a lot but I have never experienced a charge more than I agreed to. Owner would not discuss it.

We traveled to see Luray Caverns and Cooter's Garage.
We traveled to see Luray Caverns and Cooter's Garage. Harrisonburg offered less expensive hotels that appear nicer online. It was only about a 30 min drive to Luray. However, I wish we would have stayed at a Microtel or elsewhere. Doubletree was nothing but a dissapointment.

Just a short note about my previous post. It looks like I said the visit was not what we needed. To the contrary it was exactly what we needed. I said that the Breakfast the second day was not satisfactory or what we needed which was fine. We went elsewhere to get Breakfast. The first day Breakfast was excellent, fantastic.

The hotel is right next to the building where admissions tours begin. The staff was friendly, and we liked being able to park on our own in the garage. The lobby is welcoming. We ate one meal at the coffee shop. The service was quick despite them being quite busy. The room was adequate, and the bed was fine.

New. Clean but sparse. A new Days Inn or Motel 6. Ikea of hotel decor. Not sure what it will look like in a few years. But I'm old school. Breakfast was more minimal offering but good food. Room was good sized with great bed. Good environmental application of soaps etc in dispensers.
