United StatesExcellent hotel experience! The staff was cheerful and accommodating, and the room wonderfully clean and well-appointed, providing an abundance of towels and pillows. A blissfully quiet rest was mine. An overall sense of safety for my person and vehicle was appreciated. Bonus note: After several inches of snow the prior day, I was pleased to find the parking lot clean. I would gladly select this hotel for future visits to Kansas City.

I was there to see the Truman library/museum and home as...
I was there to see the Truman library/museum and home as part of a longer trip. If I had more time, I would have spent a full day in the historic part of Independence. The NPS tour guide of the Truman home was very nice (and good-looking!) and provided a lot of detail. The museum has several interactive features that provide experiential learning. The gift shop was wonderful. It included many history books, biographies, books for children, plus the usual assortment of souvenier items, and, of course, stylish hats for men!

We were here for some historical sites and this place was an excellent base to see the sites. We ate at a wonderful Mexican restaurant and enjoyed an Ice Cream Sunday and milkshake at a local Ice cream shop,

We were in Independence to visit the Truman Library and were very impressed. The library is beautiful and very informative. Walking through it is like walking through his life and history. We highly recommend the library.
We wished we could have stayed longer in Independence to visit other historical sites.

Plenty of shopping and dining options.
Plenty of shopping and dining options. The mall isn't what it used to be, but there are strip malls and a lot of other stores. There are a lot of attractions in the area. Dined at Salvatore's Italian Restaurant on Rt 40. The staff was very friendly, food was good and reasonably priced. Visited Kauffman stadium. Very clean, well kept. Travelled when there wasn't a lot of traffic, wouldn't recommend travelling the area or I-70 during rush hour times. If going to the stadium, recommend that you get there early for parking.

terrible front desk service no internet for my phone only...
terrible front desk service no internet for my phone only one working elevator lost my reservation for second night the 27th so got locked out of my room finally found it and got let back in. My bookings rate was much higher than others paid for night way overpaid .Will most likely not use bookings.com again after overpaying and rude front desk
will say room clean maid nice and bed comfortable

We stayed in Independence because it was halfway between our two children. We ate at a couple of good restaurants that were close to our hotel. Getting around was easy. This trip was to visit family so we didn't take in many activities.
