Great location for discovering the entire island! Near services, the airport and the beach. Amazing bike path nearby. Clean, modern room and comfortable beds. Good value, free activities on site: bike, pool, spa, yoga, photos booth, games. Good beachfront restaurant! We strongly recommend!

Excellent value, nicely updated, large room and bathroom. We overlooked the water and the walking path, which was a nice bonus. Didn't try the small pool, but it looked inviting. Only hitch was the internet was off and on (we were there for four nights and had a big storm one night) and the TV system didn't work consistently. Management did send someone to fix it after a couple of phone calls. Very peaceful and quiet family-oriented place, with several decent restaurants and stores nearby.

The Hotel is located next to the Beach Park. It has been maintained well. The hotel has two outdoor pools along with hot tub. Sunrise viewing is a literally walk across the park. We had a ocean view room so could view the sunrise from the window. The hotel also has laundary facility, which was very effective. Also, there was enough parking including a overflow area. The check-in and check-out was seamless experience. It is highly recomended for families with kids. The unique thing is that Lydgate Beach Park is right next to the property, and you can spend quality time both during sunrise and sunset hours and throughout the day too. As we did not avail the breakfast facilitiy, cannot comment on it.

The place was very wide and clean. Strategical position on the island, very close to the airport and the market 2 minutes away on walk with so many typical products was a really gem. You could borrow pool or beach towels for free every day!!

Kapaa is a small town with lots of shops of different types...

Kapaa is a small town with lots of shops of different types and a few restaurants. It is also on a long bike path along the coast all the way up to Donkey Beach, which is well worth cycling or walking. It is quite close to the Lihue airport and also a good starting point for visiting the east and north of the island with great beaches and the Ha'ena State Park.

I enjoy everything so much , I didn't want to leave!!

I enjoy everything so much , I didn't want to leave!! It was breathe taking!! For such a beautiful place, My (boyfriend ) was just the way he has always been . Last 3 days on our 12 day trip. I decided that I had enough, so I guess I'll just have to dream about traveling, like I use too... Have a wonderful day!!!

The photos ARE NOT taken in Kapaa. They are of the views from Poipu. Kapaa is a Busy city area right next to the airport. The public beaches here often bump-up against busy roads. On this side of the island, there are more resorts. It also rains more near Kapaa and is windier. For those that want better weather and more family-friendly beaches and condos vs resorts, I I would definitely recommend Poipu. It’s about a 30-40 minute drive from the airport (depending on traffic/time of day/Construction) but worth every second of the time spent getting there.

Darling little town.

Darling little town. Lots of shops, places to eat and its location is close to the airport, nicely located between the north and south ends of the island. Farmers markets on set days. The traffic near the town can back up because of traffic lights so head out at off times when you can. We liked Holey Grail donuts, Bubba Burger for a "slopper", the glass shop in Kappa'a. Just south we love Hamura Saimin, always need to make a couple stops in that place. Rent a bike and check out the Coastal trail-beautiful and easy.

Kapaa seems to be an old town.

Kapaa seems to be an old town. It is not like Poipu or Hanalei but good small town. We had great meal at Fish Bar Deli, local foods (spam musubi and chicken karate) to take out at Wailua Drive In, and big bowl of pho at Pho Kapaa. These places were busy with local people and we enjoyed their meals as well as services.

Super nice people, lots to see and do at any pace. We could have used more time there. Food was excellent with everything we tried. Would have gone to a luau but found it expensive ...save our pennies for next time ;)

The ocean view room had a fantastic view of the beach, and it was a nice size. There's an abundance of parking spaces too. The reception staff were also very nice and accommodating. Overall, a very good place for the price on Kauai island.

Welcoming ambience. Nice rooms and clean. Hotel was near to the airport so really good. Staff was okay - not so motivated sometimes but okay :) a lot of parking space. Beach access. Restaurants and stores right next to the hotel.

Location on the beach. Close to many nice restaurants. Kauai is very beautiful and I highly recommend a visit to the island. Islander Resort Oceanfront #149 is a good base for exploring the island.
