Weather is great. Most fast food eatiers are obviously run By poor management. Employees have the McDonald's filthy year around I've never seen a McDonald's kept in such a poor condition. Pretty sad to see this Starbucks drive up window looked like a three Year old cleaned it, terrible impression
Good place to stay to break up the long trip north. Not as expensive as Salinas or Paso Robles but big enough to have good food options. Drive thru Starbucks closes early, so don't expect to stop here for late-night coffee.
King City was a small town so I didn't expect too much. They did have a nice super market and a nice restaurant called Cork and Plough. The Motel 6 was absolutely disgusting so stay away from that.
We met our kids/family there since we all came from different directions so our visit was a matter of convenience, therefore, my "not long enough" response to question 2 is about the family NOT King City.!The city itself is of no interest to me/us.
IT KOO SINCE I VISITING AT SALINAS PRISON IN SOLEDAD SO ITS NOT TO FAR FROM PRISON I STAYED IN SOLEDAD BEFORE BUT I LIKE KING CITY BETTER SOLEDAD WAS LIKE NO MANS LAND ALOT CLOSER TO PRISON BUT NOTHING THERE AND KING CITY AND FIRESIDE INN HOTEL HAD KOO STRIP OF STORES MARKETS RESTAURANTS PARK 711 GAS STATIONS ETC WALKING DISTANCE
It's not a town that you would stop in unless you lived there or had relatives. But with so many small towns in the U.S. that are suffering and look sad and tired, King City is thriving in a new, Latino way. It's a great launching point to the beautiful Pinnacles National Park. While you are there, stop at the King City shopping center and buy a lunch and supplies for your day or camping trip at Pinnacles. Then drive through the main street and find a restaurant. And in an era of decline for many American small towns, be thankful this little burg with the royal name has reasons to continue as a prosperous little agricultural center.

the hotel is located next to an amazing restaurant. The food was excellent, one of the best meals we had in two weeks in The US. The hotel is clean, tidy and the staff very welcoming. A nice recharge point before driving onto LA.

Bed was very comfortable. Clean room. Room felt like it has been redone recently. Nice Microwave and refrigerator. Even though they are "pet Friendly" they put us in a room on the second floor (where no pets are allowed.
