It was so beautiful, the locals were so kind and inviting. We went to poipu beach and there were 20 turtles one of the nights we were there. The food was awesome. We ate at Kenji Burgers, Brennekes, Sunday brunch at The Grand Hiatt,
We hope to come back again some day.

A warm. historic town that offers just what we needed as far as drug store, groceries, etc. We happened to be there during Koloa Harvest Day parade. How special! Lovely, friendly people. We had a very special meal at Keoki's Paradise. Fantastic food and excellent service! Our family commented repeatedly that we chose the best island (Kauai) and the best location (South Shore). A vacation we will never forget!

Nice beaches and good sightseeing.
Nice beaches and good sightseeing. A tour along the coast and a visit to Weimea Canyon State Park is a must.
The rivers and the waterfalls is worth visiting.
We stayed 4 nights in Princeville/Hanalei and 4 nights in Koloa/Poipu. That is recommended.

Although weather was windy and rainy the first few days, it then got sunny and was lovely. A nice beach (Poipu) is very close (loved the sea turtles resting in the sand!) Kalapaki Joe's Happy Hour is a "must do"!! Advertised as "the best Happy Hour" in Hawaii, and we'd have to agree!! Wish biking had been better--bike lanes are very narrow and on quite busy roads.

Koloa and the Kiahuna Plantation development is wonderful. the room we rented was terrible.
Great restaurants in the area: Beach House, Brenecke's, Paco's tacos, .
Stevenson's Library, Eating House, and Merrimans were all great
Plenty of activities - high speed raft, ditch tubing, ATV's, hiking in Waimea. lots of shops.

We had a great stay in the Koloa area and would highly recommend it if you are visiting Kauai. Poipu Beach is a great place to spend a day relaxing, but there are other activities close by if that is your inclination. We had a great tour of the Na Pali coast on a sail/snorkel cruise with Capt. Andy's Boat Tours, and were also in close driving distance to towns of Hanapepe and Waimea for local color on the southern and western parts of the island. The Allerton and McBryde Botanical Gardens was also worth the visit. A bit of a longer drive is to the Polihale State Park to a most beautiful and isolated golden sand beach - the last 4 miles or so are on a bit of a bumpy dirt road that keeps the crowds down, but well worth the visit. There are many dining choices in the Koloa area - we enjoyed Keoka's Paradise in the Poipu Shopping Village and Brennecke's at Poipu Beach for casual dining, and there were many other choices at the resorts in the area. Finally, if you like to snorkel, Lawai Beach is the place to go for the variety of fish. The shore is a bit rocky so it is a little bit of effort to get it, but once in the water it had the best snorkeling on the island, including the beaches on the northern part of the island.

We stayed at the Sheraton for one night because we simply couldn’t stay at our other hotel for one night longer. The Sheraton was everything the other hotel was not - luxury, airy, clean and filled with amenities. We didn’t leave the resort for the 24 hours we were there because it has fantastic access to the beach, a beach bar and a pool. We really liked having a patio to sit and relax on during the evenings. Would have liked to have stayed there longer but it was just so expensive.
nice beach area. great for kids. lots of sea turtles in poipu beach. unit we had was near road so noisier but grounds are nice and lots of plants great place to walk c. close to shopping in mall 1 mile away . good swim pool and fitness centre next door.
I loved the location and the well stocked kitchen. I also appreciated the Hawaiian snacks provided . I appreciated the quick response to my ants in the bed problem! The pool was a delight!
