Lamesa is a very small town in between odessa and Lubbock. If you don’t know where that is, don’t feel bad. Nobody does, not even time. The entire town shuts down at 9pm and doesn’t open until 7am. There’s maybe 3 Mexican restaurants that are varying degrees of yuck, two donut shops, a McDonald’s, sonic, Taco Bell and a subway. That’s pretty much the entire town, except sand. There is an abundance of sand, dirt and scrub brush. If you like nice, quiet, and excessively boring, this is the town for you, just be prepared for a bunch of nothing, both in scenery and in things to do. If my brother didn’t live there I’d never go back, sadly though, I will have to return at some point. Hopefully time remembers lamesa and yanks it, kicking and screaming, from the 1940s.

Long drive needed to stay in Lamesa for quick shut eye with small pet. Room was clean, very affordable with comfortable beds for traveling with small pet, and coffee and soaps in the room were perfect or more than needed for two of us. Air-conditioning was great and didn't get warm in the middle of the night as some are. Loved all rooms were first floor only, no humping upstairs. The only negative I can point out was that Breakfast was not available as told online and room had a very strong mildew smell at first, but got over quickly after using my room spray and airing. Would stay again in the future.

Everyone at the motel was wonderful. Every voice on the phone was energetic and friendly. It was like a Utopia during our short visit there. As a matter-of-fact, the last trip there we stayed there also, and we had a wonderful experience also then. Cue the confetti!

Some things have changed over the years and it was good to see new buildings and businesses open. The chicken fried steak festival down at Forest Park was fun filled! We eat in the park as well as at Jalisco‘s.
