Laughlin FAQ: Tips for every trip
All trips
What's the best area to stay?
Cassino Drive is the most practical area to stay in Laughlin. This riverfront stretch provides direct access to the Colourado River, large hotels, and entertainment venues. Choosing accommodation here places you within walking distance of pedestrian paths, boat tours, and dining options.
What is Laughlin best known for?
Laughlin is recognised for its waterfront cassino resorts situated directly on the Colourado River. Visitors travel here to walk the paved riverwalk, hire boats for water recreation, and tour the nearby Davis Dam. The destination provides large-scale gaming alongside accessible year-round outdoor activities.
How many days should I stay?
A two to three-day trip provides enough time to walk along the Colourado River, visit the cassinos and take a boat tour. If you plan to hike the surrounding desert trails or travel to nearby Lake Mohave, consider adding an extra day to your itinerary.
First visit
Where should I stay on my first trip?
Staying along Cassino Drive positions first-time visitors directly next to the Colourado River. This central area offers immediate pedestrian access to the main resort cassinos, dining venues, and riverboat tours. It serves as a practical base to use water taxis and explore the riverfront pathways.
What’s the easiest way to explore in Laughlin?
Walking the paved pathway along the Colourado River connects most central Laughlin hotels and dining venues. To travel between riverside locations efficiently, use the scheduled water taxis. For further distances or exploring the surrounding desert, ride-sharing apps and rental cars provide reliable transport.
What are the best things to do in Laughlin?
Walk the paved riverfront path along the Colourado River to easily access the main resort cassinos, dining venues and entertainment centres. Take a water taxi between properties, book a riverboat cruise to see the Davis Dam, or explore the hiking trails around Lake Mohave.
Family stays
What’s the best thing to do in Laughlin with children?
Walk or cycle the paved routes at Heritage Greenway Park and Trails. Take a guided riverboat tour along the Colourado River to observe local wildlife. A short drive away, Lake Mohave provides shallow swimming areas and boating opportunities suitable for all age groups.
Where should I stay with children?
Choosing riverfront hotels in Laughlin puts families near paved pedestrian paths and boat tour departures along the Colourado River. These accommodation frequently provide large swimming pools and direct access to the Colourado River Heritage Greenway Park, offering practical outdoor recreation spaces away from gaming areas.
What’s the best way to get around with a family?
Hiring a car provides the flexibility families need to travel between Laughlin hotels, dining spots and surrounding nature reserves. For shorter trips, the paved river walkway easily accommodates pushchairs. Water taxis also operate along the Colourado River to connect major accommodation sites.
Romantic trips
What’s the best way to explore in Laughlin?
Couples can walk the paved riverfront path to easily move between main hotels and dining venues. Local water taxis provide regular services across the river, connecting different properties. For longer distances around Laughlin, ride-sharing apps and private car hires are readily available.
What’s the most romantic thing to do in Laughlin?
Explore the paved path bordering the Colourado River to easily access local restaurants and entertainment venues. For a shared outdoor activity, you can book a sightseeing boat cruise on the water or hike the desert trails surrounding the nearby Davis Dam.
Where should I stay for a romantic getaway?
Choose a hotel along the Colourado River for immediate access to the paved riverwalk, waterfront dining, and evening entertainment. Booking a property directly on Cassino Drive keeps couples within walking distance of the main gaming floors, live music venues, and riverboat tours.
Work trips
Where's the most convenient place to stay for work?
Hotels along Cassino Drive offer the most practical setups for corporate trips in Laughlin. The major properties here provide dedicated meeting rooms, business centres and workspace facilities. This main strip ensures straightforward commutes to local conference events and the nearby Laughlin/Bullhead International Airport.
What can I do in Laughlin between meetings?
Walk along the Colourado Riverwalk to travel between convention spaces and riverfront hotels. Local desert golf courses provide quiet outdoor settings for corporate outings and client discussions. For evening meals, established steakhouses inside the main resorts offer private dining areas for colleagues.
How should I get around in Laughlin?
Hiring a car or using ride-sharing apps ensures efficient transport between the airport and your Laughlin meetings. Because several key conference facilities and hotels sit directly along the Colourado River, walking the paved riverfront paths offers a practical commute between adjacent corporate venues.

Laughlin is a great place. We've been there several times. We would go again if time permits.
The only downside was our one night stay at the Aquarius Hotel. We requested for the lake view, paid for it, but was given a room facing the parking lot. What more, the bathroom smell of molds. Well, next time, it will be a different hotel.

Even though we went in the middle of summer and the heat was a little bit to be desired at 116 during the day, the stay overall was good. Lots of good places to go and see in bulhead city. And whatnot, so you don't have to just stick around there plus the river is very, very nice.

I liked gambling, and the views.
I liked gambling, and the views. It was to hot to go outside. The casino is a smoking casino and I was unaware. The smoke it was too much to handle. Could not stay and gamble at the casino we had a room at. We had to go to a cleaner casino to be able to breathe. Don't go here if you have breathing issues.

I like that every casino had a lot of slots machines and that it is not as crowded as Las Vegas. I also liked that Bullhead city was just a cross the river with its stores and restaurants. What I did not like about Laughlin was the higher prices for gasoline, sodas, ice, chips.

Laughlin was always a cheaper version of Vegas by the Colorado River. Now it is old and dying. The Colorado Belle is closed, the Pioneer should be, and there is very little tourist traffic on the main street, We have been to Laughlin every few years for the past 40 and we will not be coming back again.

I stay in this hotel in Vegas in a suite which is very quiet inside room, spacious, comfortable. But, in Laughlin hotel room was good. Bathtub slow to empty, very noisy from room above, banging doors. Room was next to parking—noisy with alarms, loud beeping. Just horrible. Amenities charge—pool was closed, why pay it. Loved Claim Jumpers!
