The entire town was super warm, friendly, and polite!

The entire town was super warm, friendly, and polite! Southern hospitality at its best! Walking around Laurel and experiencing the small shops, historic mansions, and delicious shrimp and beignets was delightful! I would not recommend visiting on Mondays though, because the Lauren Rogers Art Museum is closed.

Laurel's downtown is nice and well kept.

Laurel's downtown is nice and well kept. Nearly all of the surrounding areas felt uncomfortable. We struggled to find a place to eat on a Saturday evening. We settled on a BBQ place that was decent. The food took a long time, and nearby parking was bad.

The air worked and the beds were semi comfortable.

The air worked and the beds were semi comfortable. Refrigerator and telephone did not work at all. The tv had no remote and kept switching from HDMI to settings mode. Towels were dingy and some looked as if they hadn’t been washed. The chain on the toilet was broken and would not flush. The clerk was told about all of these problems and he advised maintenance wouldn’t be in to fix anything until the next day. Maintenance never did come and nobody followed up with our problems. So my husband fixed the toilet and the tv in order for us to sleep 2 nights there. We requested a new room and was told no more rooms were available to even move into. If they’d have at least placed some effort into fixing the toilet, along with the general up keep and maintenance of the room and it’s appliances and facilities I would’ve been ok but I draw the line at having to fix your own toilet!

The hotels were nice. The stores were nice but not too many.

The hotels were nice. The stores were nice but not too many. Nice fast food restaurants but few sit down restaurants. IHOP and Sizzlin steak has gone out of business. There is no starbucks or zaxbys. There is a hospital. Overall it is a nice city to visit.

Where I was not impressed with the Holiday Inn Express hotel...

Where I was not impressed with the Holiday Inn Express hotel, downtown Laurel made up for my dissatisfaction. There were so many fun shops and vendors out, it was a beautiful weekend to walk along the streets and view historic downtown Laurel. We will definitely be back, just not staying at the same hotel!

we came for the small Hometown and driving in realized there...

we came for the small Hometown and driving in realized there were 7 EXITS!!!!! Not so small of a town...lol! Loved the historic area even though the roads were under construction. Ben and Erin and their SMALL town were what bought us here...not what we expected. But we still enjoyed ourselves.

The bed and breakfast was very clean and comfortable. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. Jenny cooked a gourmet type breakfast with eggs, French toast, fruit, She had homemade cookies when we arrived and during our stay. Jenny and her husband were the nicest people. In fact, the whole town was very nice everywhere we went.

Everything was perfect. Very clean comfortable with perfect hosts. My wife is gluten free and the chef made a seperate fantastic breakfast for her. If you're going to Laurel, stay here.
