Located 12 miles from the eastern entrance to Yosemite National Park, this motel in Lee Vining has guest rooms with views of Mono Lake. Mono Lake Tufa Reserve is less than a 5-minute drive away. Owner gave us a great tip about the gas station restaurant nearby !!
On the banks of Mono Lake, this historic lodge features two of Mono County’s oldest buildings. Quiet guest rooms are uniquely furnished with an antique style. The rooms are rustic and a bit dated, but clean and comfortable. Reminded me of childhood cabins in upstate NY. Food was great. A very relaxed feel.
Located adjacent to the marina across the street from June Lake, these cabins feature fully-equipped kitchens and free WiFi. This cabin was very close to the lake at the marina. We walked there in the morning to see the autumn color around the lake and then we walked into the small town. Laura and Bob, the owners, were very helpful on were to go to see more autumn color and indicated so on a map.
This June Lake apartment features a fully equipped kitchen and beautiful lake views. Ski storage is available. The property is 12 mi from Yosemite Tioga Pass. I loved the size... Very spacious ! Kids loved the upstairs loft. It was clean and comfortable. Great location... Walking distance to dinner, very close to June Mountain. Would go back.
I came for Lake Mono and it was magnificent. Bodie Ghost Town is definitely worth an extended visit. The surrounding area is a hiker/backpackers dream. Stop by the Epic Grill for a meal on the terrace
Mono Lake south shore trail is the best...easy, very informative signage..best in the morning when it’s cooler temps. The visitor center is also very informative but there’s many more tufa columns to see and walk between at the south shore.
Beautiful and secluded little town. Friendly people everywhere!!! Mono Lake was so cool, once in a life time experience. Would definitely recommend visiting here. We ate at Nicely’s in town, and they had excellent food and friendly staff.
A tiny town with big personality! Everyone was so nice here. Its a perfect place to stay if you want to day hike in Yosemite. Whoa Nelly's cafe located in the towns only gas station has some of the best food I've ever had.
Good small town. Nice visitor center. We had a great time seeing sunset at Mono lake and visiting the Ancient Bristle cone pine forest. Wonderful trip. I only encounter an unfriendly sorting store who took advantage of the remoteness of the town. Beware of that store when you buy camping supplies.
Lee Vining's major attraction centres on an environmental tragedy - Lake Mono. Though efforts have been made to reduce the amount of water Los Angeles drains from the feeder streams for the lake, its depleted water levels and concentrated salinity are testament to the ravaging effects of blind industrialisation.

We enjoyed a very comfortable night’s stay in our little cabin at Tioga Lodge, booked at very short notice due to the Yosemite closure. We were made to feel very welcome and especially appreciated breakfast out on the veranda overlooking Mono Lake. The entrance to the Tioga Pass was just up the road, so the Lodge was very convenient for exploring Yosemite’s eastern side. Highly recommended!
