Overlooking June Lake, Boulder Lodge is a 30 minutes' drive from Yosemite's eastern gate. An indoor pool, sauna and hot tub are provided. All rooms in the hotel are equipped with a TV. At check in, the lady went above and beyond. We got in at 1am and she was up to greet us. She had our room unlocked with key inside & had heated the room so it was cosy. She allowed us to check in the next morning. Great service.

If you're visiting Mono Lake, Lee Vining can't be beat. It's a nice little town with a few little stores and a really nice family-style restaurant, called Nicely's, that I look forward to visiting again. It's easy to get to the best tufa sites at Mono Lake in about 15 minutes, and other park areas are even closer. If you want to access Yosemite from the east, Lee Vining is again the best option. I drove through the June Lake area, too, but expect to add 15 minutes to your drive if you stay there.
I went to Lee Vining in the winter so the town was quiet and not A lot of traffic. The little market next to Lake View Lodge though small carries a large variety of goods and at a reasonable price. I definitely want to return in the summer.
Great small town!Site of Mono Lake Committee and a great US Forest Service Visitor Center overlooking Mono Lake.Lots of history, scenery, hiking and geology to occupy your days.Wonderful scenic camping in Lee Vining Canyon,Lundy Canyon and at the campground in town.Terrific dining.Bodie Mikes is my favorite but other good ones are Mono Lake Inn(if still open),Nicely's and Whoa Nelly Deli(at the Mobile station when you turn onto Tioga Pass Rd).Of course,Lee Vining is also the eastern entry to Yosemite National Park and you can't go wrong with that!Lee Vining is a great place to vacation, visit or just relax and hang out.
It's a small town with only a few restaurants. Best food and place to eat for your money was at the Mobile station. Lee Vining is a great place to stay if you're visiting Yosemite National Park.
Friendly, clean, but dated. Huge parking area, nice view to the east, mountains behind you. Frig and microwave in the room which is huge if you need to lay out gear. Cable TV if you want it. Staff are extremely friendly. Adjoining cafe is great place for pastries and limited, home cooked, food. Grocery store right next door for resupply. Grounds are beautifully kept up with lots of places to sit and enjoy the view, the rabbits, birds or the clean air. If you have been camping and need a break, this would be a great place to do it, lay out your gear, resupply, repack, et al. If traveling, it is relaxing and friendly. Either way you cannot loose. We would stay here again. Great whether you are traveling or camping. They also have Wifi :).
Mono lake is beautiful. Check out the tufas and birds. Head south for obsidian dome, hot springs, and devils postpile. Near lots of hiking options in the mountains. Great biking routes in the area too.
