Loved the outdoor farm market on Saturday. The Diamond In town is a great place to relax when shopping the many interesting shops. Great restaurants in town within walking distance from the Diamond. The Original Pie Shoppe in Laughlintown is worth the short drive for delicious doughnuts.
Nice restaurants all within walking distance. The center of town was just a few blocks with a variety of stores and restaurants. We came into town for an invited golf outing at Ligonier Golf Club and we got rained out.
This hotel is so close to Fort Ligonier. We loved all the history at the Fort. We walked to Wicked Googly for dinner and walked around the area. We have gone there two years in a row and will definitely go back.
The community has greatly invested in presenting a well kept town diamond and business/government section. Great barber shop with most accommodating barbers. A great coffee shop on the north diamond, a gem of a Celtic store for those interested in Irish/English/Scottish items. Across the Giant Eagle parking lot is a Pizza/Sandwich Shop. My main focus was Fort Ligioner, which did not disappoint. The authenticity is a tribute to those who contributed to making it a first class historical site.
The reason for our visit was Fort Ligonier, a reconstructed British fortification from the Colonial time. An excellent place with wonderful museum. Just opposite the road to the hotel. This place is very reccommendable.
Spent a weekend here in January. Downtown Ligonier is very charming. We at at The Kitchen on Main the first night and The Road Toad the second night. The food was incredible at both places. We didn't get to explore the shops in downtown Ligonier since they were all closed by the time we finished dinner both nights. We did some snow tubing at Hidden Valley and went to the fire and ice festival in Somerset. Would love to come back and explore the shops in downtown Ligonier and check out Fort Ligonier.
