This is, without exaggeration, the best hotel staff I’ve ever encountered. When we got stuck in Yosemite because the road was closed, we had to look for another place last minute. Since I had booked a non-refundable option, I honestly didn’t expect to get my money back or be able to change the dates without extra charges. But the team went above and beyond — and my friends and I couldn’t be more grateful. The view from the terrace was incredible, the room was clean and spacious, and the staff truly did everything they could to help us. I only regret that we were so stressed and busy that we didn’t even take a single photo. I’m not sure if I’ll ever be in that area again, but I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone passing through.

Lone Pine is a classic strip-development with a good range of restaurants and diners. It's the gateway to the Alabama Hills which are definitely worth checking out. Also the junction for the I-136 into Death Valley.

Lone Pine is a small town that's close to the Manzanar...

Lone Pine is a small town that's close to the Manzanar Historic Site and the Mt. Whitney Fish Hatchery. You can also stop at the Cottonwood Kilns on your way in. It's got some good restaurants and shops and people are friendly. Seasons, The Merry Go-Round, and Alabama Hills Cafe are good places to eat and there are a couple of saloons in town as well, if that's your thing. Some beautiful views of the Eastern Sierras, too... About a 4-hour drive from L.A. it's a nice place to visit and there are probably opportunities for hiking in the local mountains.

The city is small and comfortable; has good restaurants; residents are friendly and kind; the Film Museum is awesome; Manzanar is a must to go national historic site; the Alabama Hills and Whitney Mt. are spectacular and have several breath-taking places to hike and/or visit.

There's a McDonald's which is always good for feeding children at a reasonable price. There's a good Mexican restaurant in town with a very friendly waitress. The motion picture museum is well done. The Alabama hills are very interesting along with Mt Whitney.

The museum of Western film history and surrounding Alabama...

The museum of Western film history and surrounding Alabama Hills are fantastic - you can just imagine the Hollywood scenes being filmed. We drove up Mt. Whitney for a short hike; our Dow Villa motel had the best pool and lovely rooms, historical photos in the lobby. We ate across the street at the Alabama Hills café and liked that, too. Our L. A. cousins had driven past the museum enroute to Mammoth hundreds of times and have said they will definitely stop there on their next trip.

Very clean room and bathroom, with very large and comfortable bed. Good amenities in the room, such as a coffee machine. It is located in the junction of the road to the direction of the Death Valley National Park, although there is a 1.5 hrs drive to the center of the park. But exploring the region of Lone Pine, Alabama Hills and Mt. Whitney is definitely worth it as well. Good restaurants nearby.

Excellent hotel for a stop over between Las Vegas and Lake Tahoe. It was very clean, the staff were friendly and pool area was great. Loved Lone Pine, really nice people with a great Saloon about 5 mins walk, and a restaurant next door to the hotel with lovely food.

Right near all the main shops and restaurants of Lone Pine — for a one night stopover this place is perfect. Nothing particularly fancy but if you need a decent, clean place to stay for a night or two this is a great option.

I came off the trail 2 days early and they were able to accommodate me. Happy with my stay. One unusual plus was that there was loads of space on the surface by the sink. Liked Lone Pine.
