I was looking for a cool old hotel that had a lot of character. I really fit the bill. Historical building with a really cool look. The room was cozy very clean and quite. It was walkable to a bunch or really good restaurants as well. The staff was super friendly and able to give some great restaurant recommendations. For being on the main road I didnt hear any traffic noise. Will definitely be bakc next time IM in the area.

The view of Mt.

The view of Mt. Whitney and the Eastern Sierras is world-class. Good place for eating, if you like local beer and burger places (which I do). The burrito I got from the taco wagon down the street that was the best I've ever eaten. The gift store (Lone Pine Rocks and Gifts) has a wonderful selection of books and geological samples. Also, the lady who works there was great to chat with. Go to Lone Pine and slow down, read up on the local history, and be sure to see the Western Movie Museum and drive up to Cerro Gordo (in your 4-wheel drive).

Loved our afternoon and overnight stay at Lone Pine.

Loved our afternoon and overnight stay at Lone Pine. Had a warm welcome at Jakes Saloon bar and LOVED the trad saloon swinging doors! Enjoyed a quality dinner at Totem where the service was friendly and environment was relaxed. Had a local feel whilst being friendly and welcoming to tourists. Lone Pine was a perfect stopover for Death Valley then on to Las Vegas.

Fantastic spring-time hiking in nearby Alabama Hills.

Fantastic spring-time hiking in nearby Alabama Hills. Good breakfast at Alabama Cafe & Bakery (must try the mixed berry “turnover”. And don’t sleep on the Museum of Western Film or the Interagency Visitor Crntef. Both are gems.

Lone Pine is a classic strip-development with a good range of restaurants and diners. It's the gateway to the Alabama Hills which are definitely worth checking out. Also the junction for the I-136 into Death Valley.

Lone Pine is a small town that's close to the Manzanar Historic Site and the Mt. Whitney Fish Hatchery. You can also stop at the Cottonwood Kilns on your way in. It's got some good restaurants and shops and people are friendly. Seasons, The Merry Go-Round, and Alabama Hills Cafe are good places to eat and there are a couple of saloons in town as well, if that's your thing. Some beautiful views of the Eastern Sierras, too... About a 4-hour drive from L.A. it's a nice place to visit and there are probably opportunities for hiking in the local mountains.

Lone Pine is very close to Death Valley, so it was a perfect stop for us. Drive from this side to DV is spectacular, so we recommend doing it in the morning. Property was clean and cosy, there was everything we could possibly need. We also got extra towels without any problems, that’s a nice plus :). Overall, we recommend :).

It was a great stopover location on our journey from Yosemite to Death Valley. We especially liked the central main street location and being close to restaurants, cafes and bars. Lone PIne is lovely town and we enjoyed our visit to the film museum and our drive around the Alabama Hills.

I came off the trail 2 days early and they were able to accommodate me. Happy with my stay. One unusual plus was that there was loads of space on the surface by the sink. Liked Lone Pine.
