Middletown is right down the street from Newport. Just a hop, skip and a jump. Beach is right there, as well as the cliff walk. Best places to eat: Corner cafe in Newport, Brick Alley Pub and Mad Hatter’s Bakery. Highly recommend all three!
We love Middletown!! There are great bars and restaurants here!!! The people are so nice and welcoming!!! This time around we went to Rusty's Bar & Grill, which is right next door to the Atlantic. We always have a great time there and the food is good!!!
Lovely town, just the right distance from the locations we were most interested in, Bristol and Newport. Ma's Donuts are truly wonderful and their sweet bread is worth the trip. We brought home 10 loaves. Newport Diner is excellent.
Wonderful stay, wonderful town, wonderful people, wonderful hotel(Howard Johnson’s)...and wish we had been able to stay longer. Very much history here and lots of places to go and things to do. The Creamery was probably our favorite place to eat with having so many menu items and a whole desert menu with low prices! The Blue Plate Diner was very nice as well. We use a GPS to get around and it was so easy!!!
“Nice looking resort, by the water, modern, very good food restaurant in hotel, friendly staff!!”
“It was reasonably priced compared to others hotels in the area and had a continental breakfast. The staff was very friendly.”
“Very cheap and a quick drive to Newport”
“modern hotel, very clean, nice room, even a fridge there, close enough to get to Newport, breakfast included, would come again, shops and restaurants nearby ( marshalls)”
“Location was excellent, easy walk to good restaurants and the beach. Walkable to Cliff Walk. Short drive to downtown Newport. Facility very clean, beds comfortable. Host very personable and attentive. Lounge area well stocked with breakfast foods and snacks.”
