Nice little town. Usually stay at Comfort Inn but used Hampton Inn this time. Never again! Back to Comfort Inn! Lobby, dining area and our room were very uncomfortably cold. Room heating controls were insufficient.

Morehead is a small eastern Kentucky town with a population of about 6800 people and is home of the Morehead State University and Cave Run Lake, a 8,270-acre lake about 10 miles outside of town, great for boating, camping, water skiing or relaxing on the beaches. Cave Run Lake is part of the recreational facilities within the Daniel Boone National Forest. We lived in Morehead for 4 years while attending Morehead State University and loved every minute of it.

We were just driving through from Virginia to St Louis so only stayed one night each way. Both the hotel and the restaurant were close to the interstate so we didn't see my h of Morehead. The restaurant Cattleman's Roadhouse was EXCELLENT. A wonderful salad bar and the best steak I've ever had. I'd heard the term melt in your mouth but never had a steak that meet it.

The room was clean and nice size. The front desk staff was helpful and responsive when a minor issue arose with another guest and their pets. The front desk staff was also very friendly when checking in. Would stay here again if in the area.

Check-in was quick and easy. I was grateful they were able to provide me with an item I forgot to pack. The room was basic and can use a facelift the shower had no water pressure which made getting shampoo and conditioner out of my hair difficult. The bed was comfy though! Standard breakfast eggs, biscuits and gravy, waffle mix and maker, toast, coffee, and juice.
