Morro Bay is a stunning community and Sea Air Inn and Suites is central to all of it. The town is welcoming and beautiful and stores and restaurants are adjacent and walkable. The birding and sea life are on display everywhere. The town prides itself on its cleanliness and protecting the harbour. You'll love the seals, sea lions and the otters with their young in the right season. Morro Bay is the best combination of full service but cosy and welcoming.
Cozy town, dog friendly, safe. Great pastrami at Hofbrau. Nice shops for candy, jewelry and other mementos. Easy walking so once I parked my car, I never moved it. Mostly I wanted to see the others and the sea lions…and I did!!!
Morro Bay is a beautiful old fishing town which retains much of its charm and character. There are plenty of wonderful bars and restaurants including the highly recommended Galley Seafood Grill & Bar. There is plenty to do for a few days and is a relaxed place. We hired kayaks from Morro Bay Paddlesports who were superb. We spent 2-3 hours on the water watching the sea otters, pelicans and seals. There were surfing lessons available as well as cycle hire, good walking options and boat tours and to sip a beer watching the beautiful sunsets finished the days off.
The town of Morro Bay has a great selection of restaurants and other eateries. Shopping is fun and unique. Activities abound! Boat rentals, sea tours, bike riding, walking trails, bus tours... no reason to be bored here! The people are friendly, and pets are welcome practically everywhere. It's a short drive (4 or 5 miles) to Cayucos... another fun place to visit. Hearst Castle is maybe 30 minutes away. Depending on the season, Elephant Seals are easy to watch at the beach in San Simeon. So Morro Bay is a great place to use as "home base" while touring the entire central coast.
Morro Bay offers many activities for vacationers. We had an amazingly successful whale watching trip. We took an excellent e-bike tour. And we visited Hearst Castle, which was beautiful and where we learned a few things about Hearst.
Lots to see and do. If you have the time, there are boat rentals, scuba diving, whale watching, hiking, beach walking, shelling, a shooting range 10 miles away. Endless food and drink options with more than a few local breweries.
