Rural small-town Florida.
Rural small-town Florida. Agriculture, cattle and timber are the industries in the area, and the industries that support them, welding, farm equipment, hydraulics, electrical, etc. Recreational interests are outdoor-based, hunting, fishing, boating, camping. Way more churches than bars, which is fine with me. Very friendly people everywhere I went. Everyday needs easily found, 'big city' needs are 40 min. away in Tallahassee. Not a huge variety for 'foodies', but local-caught fresh seafood is plentiful and excellent.
Perry is a great little town. I joined a hunting club/lease in the area, so I will be visiting often. Game on leased timber company land is plentiful ( deer, wild hogs). Bears are frequently seen ( not legal to hunt ) so be careful with food while camping ( NEVER in your tent!).
