wE WENT IN OCT. AND BOOKED WITH I BELIEVE BOOKING.COM FOR 3 DAYS AND GOT INCREDIBLE RATE PER NIGHT. tHEY ALSO MOVED US TO THE 4TH FLOOR WHICH WAS GREAT. fERRY TO VINALHAVEN RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET. IF YOU GO TO VINALHAVEN TAKE EARLY FERRY- YOU SHOULD HAVE SEEN THE WHOLE ISLAND BY CAR IN LESS THAN TWO HOURS DONT WAIT THE WHOLE DAY TO GO BACK. TRUTHFULLY NOT MUCH TO SEE. OTHER THAN THAT I DO BELIEVE THE NORMAL RATES ARE HIGH. tHEY DID A FANTASTIC job renovating the hotel. We wILL SEEK OUT THE 3 DAY BARGAIN AGAIN NEXT YEAR.

Nice small city perched on the Maine coastline. A harbor city. Rockland is very scenic, especially from 250 Main hotel's roof deck seating. The city offers great art (extensive Wyeth family collection, e.g.), restaurants, shops, golf at the Samoset Resort and other local courses, and nearby beautiful towns of Camden and Rockport. Great place to visit.

Rockland's a really nice bit of coastal Maine. The walk to the lighthouse and the Farnsworth museum are great, as is the main street with all the restaurants and shops. It is pretty small so wouldn't recommend staying more than 2 nights at most.

We love visiting Rockland. It is small enough to be easily and completely accessible, yet it has a fabulous variety of activities available. We always find a combination of familiar/comfortable and new/exciting things to do! Don’t ever walk past a shop, bar, gallery or other venue that looks even remotely interesting. Walk in! You’ll be glad you did! We had dinner at an old favorite, Café Miranda, and drinks at a place we just happed upon, Luce Spirits. Both were fabulous and within easy walking distance down town.

The Motel was in a great location for either walking along the seaside or walking downtown. All the locals at all the restaurants and shops were very friendly . It was off season do APRIL is just a little cooler than later spring but we didn't go for the the scenery this time we went to visit family and grandchildren.

Awesome small town! My wife and adult kids enjoyed walking around the downtown area and enjoyed checking out several of the shops, restaurants, etc. Everybody we met was very friendly. We made a point to eat at the local restaurants as much as possible, after all, who comes to coastal Maine to eat at a chain restaurant? The meals were excellent at every restaurant that we chose, and all were within walking distance of our hotel.
