They had a Keurig coffee maker, and the room was very clean, staff quite helpful, Our favorite part was the garden area on the other side where we relaxed around patio tables and we could see the river below.

HISTORICAL JOHN RAST HOUSE circa 1875 is a sustainable guest house in Roseburg where guests can make the most of its garden and barbecue facilities.

We had the most fantastic stay at Cherri and Mike’s lovely house. It’s a memory we will cherish forever. The house is beautifully renovated to its original style and Cherri told us the history. We were in the Train Room which is train themed with artefacts from the old railroad days. It was a shared bathroom which was fine as we also had a basin in our room. We had an excellent restaurant recommendation for dinner and then sat in the house’s lovely garden which was nicely lit and we really appreciated the glass of wine offered by our hosts. Mike cooked the best breakfast we’ve had on our trip. Avocado, tomatoes, onions, etc on toast. Delicious.

We had a nice room , just inside the back (locking)door and a nice little patio , just outside our back door , overlooking the river. Patio had a private table and chairs at our room and several lounge chairs and tables closer to river . If it had not been 104 degrees , during our stay , we would have loved to spend more time out there . Deer wandered all around the area , foraging .

We went to wildlife safari. That was ok.

We went to wildlife safari. That was ok. All of the fast food restaurants had horrible rude employees and people are just not friendly. The only place that was nice was the roller skating rink. I don't recommend visiting there as people are rude.

This town is a dump, homeless everywhere, businesses shuttered, surly shopkeepers, religious zealots and hard right extremist. The one winery downtown advised us AT THE TASTING ROOM, that they "preferred people who bought bottles of wine". For two of us to taste mediocre wine it cost $30.00, too much to pay for a snooty and rude experience. I have tasted and bought wine in areas far and above Rosenberg and never been told that the winery only wanted people who would buy a case of wine and not mere tasters. Avoid Rosenberg unless you have to stop there because you are too tired to go further

Roseburg was an overnight stop for us.

Roseburg was an overnight stop for us. It’s a nice town with a few amenities. The Umpqua River is a beautiful river that meambers through the town and the hotel was very close to the river but no actual access to the river but a nice view from our balcony and even spotted an Eagle a couple times! We ate at Denny’s across the street which is typical Denny’s breakfast fare but their pancakes were very good! If we have need to stop in future travels we would stay at Riverfront Inn again . It was clean, comfortable beds and nice view of the River. For dog lovers there was a dog area .

found a chinese food restaurant - Chi's Garden Restaurant.

found a chinese food restaurant - Chi's Garden Restaurant. They serve large portions and we had to take leftovers back to our room. Breakfast is good too. Won't go hungry before you leave. If you get a chance, try to go to the wildlife safari in Winston. We wanted to but we were traveling with a dog and you can't drive through with pets. Maybe our next trip we will do that.

The housekeeping staff needs a leader that knows what they're doing. The room next to us was rented out and the window was broken. According to the staff it had been broken for awhile. Spend $20 on each room, paint and caulking would go a long way!
