The property was really well presented, loved all the lovely displays around the motel. Felt very cosy and welcoming. We informed the motel we would be arriving late after checkin closed. Cathy very kindly accommodated us and made arrangements for our room key. We would most definitely recommend this lovely motel to anyone. It was very clean and fresh.

Very nice rooms. Comfortable, clean and decently sized. Staff were friendly and professional. Dog friendly. Hotel grounds are well maintained, with a nice area for my service animal to potty. Hotel situated in good area with a lot of activities and restaurants within walking distance. Highly recommend.

Monique the manager welcomed us, was always ready for a conversation, and responded swiftly to our requests. The housecleaning staff was professional and performed wonderfully. Hot coffee was always available and the coffee keeper was a gentleman. The shower was as spacious as I have seen, with good water pressure and plenty of hot water. Thank you for providing plenty of outdoor seating; it was a fun place to visit the road crews at night. A great value.

We were warmly greeted by Dawn, the owner, who gave us cold drinks and great information about restaurants and events in the area. We loved the location because we were able to easily visit Salida and Westcliff. The spacious room had a very comfortable bed, a clean, large bathroom, and nice ammenities such as strategically placed chairs, luggage racks, and boxes of tissues. Elevation Brewing, where we spent a delightful evening, is just down the road with great beer and great company. Afterwards, we truly enjoyed relaxing near the fire pit under the moonlight. We also loved the breakfast next door at the Flamingo food truck--the breakfast burritos were top notch.

This is a must see destination especially if you have youth...

This is a must see destination especially if you have youth that are learning to surf. They have two spots within the rapids that people use to surf and it’s pretty amazing. Great white water rafting or tubing. Cool little town with lots of shops and great food. The Riverwalk is paved, runs along the river and easy to access.The Boathouse has the best trout I’ve ever ate and is located right on the Arkansas river. They have a pizza spot on the second level also.

We've been to Salida several times.

We've been to Salida several times. It's a great little town with lots of restaurants and shopping. It's the closest town to monarch Mountain for skiing and I believe there's a lot of mountain biking and hiking opportunities during spring, summer and fall. Salida is definitely a town to visit at least once. Our daughter held her wedding at the Salida Steam Plant in 2023. The scenery along the river is spectacular.

It still has the old CO. town charm ( in a good way) and...

It still has the old CO. town charm ( in a good way) and hasn’t been glitzed up like so many other places out west; it still feels like a local’s town. It has a good balance between keeping up with the times in its restaurants, bars, breweries and art’s scene. But best of all is its proximity to so much great outdoor fun right out your front door!!

Salida is a small mountain town with a big vibe!

Salida is a small mountain town with a big vibe! It is great to walk around to the various shops and plenty of places to pop into for a beer or meal. It was nice to see the old Victoria restored. There was live music and it was packed! Shopping at Ruby Blues, Mooney Goods and Yolo are always a must! Boathouse for a light dinner and the Thai food trailer on 50 located at the Salida Distillery. Grabbed our delicious breakfast at the Crepe Blue Trailer! An authentic French crepe is all you need to get your day started! with a cup of Mountain Phoenix coffee!

Blocked off downtown to-apparently lower vehicle traffic-but decreased available parking-a bit difficult for older people, we ate at the Boathouse as we have for years as well as Amicis (spelling) plus a family Mexican restaurant on hwy 50 as regular stops for us.

I actually just stayed in Salina to go white water rafting...

I actually just stayed in Salina to go white water rafting with the Brown Canyon rafting company in Buena Vista. The rafting experience with them was a five star.. I picked up breakfast from the Brown Dog Café, which was excellent!

The hotel was located right at the base of the Colorado Collegiate Range of mountains. There is a local hill with biking and hiking trails just down the street. White-water rafting and many city activities are available within minutes. The amenities inside the room made it feel more like staying at a family member's house. For example, the coffee provided was an actual container of grounds from a local coffee shop. The coffee cups themselves were small, decorative ceramic cups.

When I booked it through Booking.com, it came up under rooms with balconies. I was disappointed when we got there to find there was no balcony. The desk clerk offered to cancel so we could look for another hotel, we chose to stay there. Very nicely renovated.
