Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego, Ocean Park Inn, and Tower 23 Hotel got great room view-related reviews from travelers in San Diego.
I was raised in San Diego, it is now a bit over populated. The number of homeless people does not help the image. I drove the smallest vehicle I had because of the freeway traffic and driver behaviors. The hotel itself was nice. I happened to get a room that was not n front of a parking space and having a bulky oxygen generator it would have been nicer to not have to walk to a room that was not in front of a space. I was in 153. I meant to let the staff know that the toilet was having minor issues and wanted to keep running after the tank was full, I managed to fix that but wanted someone to now to monitor that. Overall I was very happy with the staff and the room itself and the cost was reasonable. I would stay there again if needed. Steven Goldsmith
I really liked San Diego. I went in February, and it was cold and rainy. Not good weather for walking around. But iI was told by everyone who lives there that the weather was not usually like that. Nevertheless, I went to the San Diego Zoo, which was lovely. It was about the right size to be able to see it all in one day. The animal habitats weren't huge, but they were adequate, and they seemed to go out of their way to make sure the animals didn't become overly bored. Food and the gift shop were expensive, though. I also went to the San Diego Museum of Art in Balboa Park. There are many museums in Balboa Park within walking distance of each other, so allow a couple of days there. I also visited the Scripps Aquarium, which was a distance from downtown, but easily accessible by car. I highly recommend it. I also went to the coast at sunset and saw many different birds and sealions preparing to bed down on the rocks for the night. It was an amazing sight! I also recommend the Hop On Hop Off Bus Tour. It takes you through all the main neighborhoods in San Diego. It would probably take two days to take full advantage of all the stops. I would have liked to spend time in Old Town, Little Italy, and Chinatown, but I didn't have enough time. There were many different kinds of restaurants all over San Diego, particularly Mexican ones. Coronado across the bridge is lovely, and would warrant a day in itself. I liked that San Diego Airport is quite close to the downtown, so a cab fare to any hotel is not too costly. You wouldn't absolutely need a car in San Diego, because it is fairly easy to get around by foot or Hop On Hop Off Bus.
San Diego is a great city - I especially enjoyed visiting the USS Midway, the Maritime Museum and San Diego Zoo. The beer tour of North Harbour was also a highlight but probably not suitable for families with young children. Public transport is also good and taxis are good value if your destination is off the public transport grid. The only downside is the number of vagrants around the city - action is being taken to address this but the problem is still very visible in certain areas of the city.
i love San Diego. it is such a great vibe down there. There are so many beaches to choose from to visit and enjoy the day. The Zoo is always a fun experience as well. It is very big and so many different animals to visit. We went to the USS Midway Museum, that was a lot of fun. We had to pay for parking and i only did 2 hours. i wish i would of done the max of 3 because 2 hours at the museum was not enough time to really take it all in.
You had a view of the bay not the ocean but it was great anyway. The bathrooms had a combination tub with shower. I stayed in a suite. The furniture is a little dated but not unsightly. The grounds was Emaculate. Nothing bad I could say about my stay here.
The weather was pleasant but the people… What a bunch of phony self entitled morons. I’m really surprised they can in good conscience treat people with such disrespect. San Diego can go to hell as far as I’m concerned.
We had a negative experience in another hotel in San Diego which we left earlier than planned and moved to Hyatt. We wished we had done it earlier! We loved our spacious and spotlessly clean room with the beautiful views of the marina. The pool area was fantastic for adults and children. Doing s'mores in the evening was a lovely experience. And finally, compliments to the chef at the restaurant - we had dinner and breakfast there and all the meals were of top quality and the staff - delightful. Thank you for the wonderful stay!
Friendly staff. great place with many amenities at a great value. Attractive grounds, Free parking, free wifi, pool, laundry, cable tv. Our 2 queen bed suite had a microwave, mini fridge,a mini kitchen with counter top, sink, and 2 electric stove tops. Location located close to freeway(15 min drive to downtown San Diego), gas station, and shopping center. Also in walking distance to resturants. This is a great place for a family on a budget! You can go to the plaza and just grab food to heat up in your hotel kitchen.
La Jolla, San Diego
The property is beautiful, peaceful, clean and quiet. The staff is very friendly. We arrive at the hotel at noon. Checking time was at 4pm, our room was ready and we got to checking early. That was a big plus!!!!. Best location because it was 5 minute walk to the beach, various food places, shops. Also La Jolla Cove and downtown was 10min drive and San Diego was 20mini drive. I would highly recommend this place and I would come and stay here again. Thank You to the staff or Riviera Inn for all you do. :)
Downtown San Diego, San Diego
The location is very good, 20/25 min by foot from the GasLamp quarter and Little Italy (the vivid areas of the city). There is also restaurants around (a good ramen restaurant, empanadas, mexican food...) if you dont wanna walk too much. The bed is comfortable, the shower is hot and the room is spacious enough. Plus comparing the price to the other motels/hotels around, this one is relatively cheap and you have what you would expect.
A magnificent hotel location (harbor view side) with a panorama and most picturesque view of San Diego which includes the downtown cityscape, Coronado Bay Bridge, the bay itself, and a moored aircraft carrier at North Island along with its military helicopters and planes. Also of significance were the presence of a plethora of every type of watercraft, including massive Navy ships transiting the Bay.
Location is great if you want to visit a lot of places in San Diego since the nearby Old Town Transit Center will get you anywhere in a short amount of time. There's even a free airport shuttle bus that stops right next to the hotel. There's a small pool that is available from 7 AM to 10 PM so you can can even go for a swim in the evening. Rooms are decent, no real complaints there...
This is the second time staying here due to the proximity to Petco Park (the sky bridge is the best!) and to the Gaslamp Quarter. It’s the best place. Friendly, clean and comfortable. Spent time at the pool and it was clean and the atmosphere was great. I had a massage there and it was exceptional. This is now my go to hotel when going to San Diego. Thank you!!
Just stay somewhere else, I heard Hotel Circle is nice in San Diego. This place isn't worth the price, for the amenities that are falsely advertised. Honestly, they're are alot of shady residents that live at this motel as well. Too much traffic and late night owls.
The location of the hotel was good and approx. 10mins from restaurants and shops. The hotel room came with a fridge which was very appreciated and everywhere was clean and plenty of TV channels. Also very close to Seaworld and San Diego Zoo.
The hotel facilities and room are very high end. The restaurant food is amazing, the staff are very friendly and accommodating to requests and the location is very close to the airport and down town San Diego. I will 100% stay again.
I liked the layout, no long halls to walk to the room. Secure parking access on site right below hotel. Large breakfast area/lobby. Good coffee! Location is ideal for walking downtown San Diego or hopping on the train.
The hotel is conveniently located to everything in downtown San Diego. The room is very small, but very clean. For a one-night business stay, it is fine. Everything looks brand new. Staff was very nice.
The location is right in the center of San Diego in Hotel Circle. The room furnishings are very simple but adequate. There is a nice lobby with snacks/ drinks for sell.
Rooms are spacious and location is very convenient when in San Diego. Front desk is available at any moment which is always important when staying at any hotel.
The location is in the core downtown of San Diego and is walkable to the Pier. Staff were very friendly and the hotel is very clean and well maintained.
The hotel is in the heart of Downtown San Diego, very beautiful inside and the rooms are unique. Our room had a cute balcony and a fireplace.
Beautiful hotel and great location in San Diego's Gaslamp District. Rooms are lovely. Wonderful outdoor pool area and restaurant.
Its a large hotel in the heart of downtown San Diego with lovely views of the bay
