Great city with so much to see and do. I was only there for a business conference but I was able to visit old San Diego and also Little Italy. I wish I had the time to explore the beaches and other places.
San Diego has loft projects being built for wealthy people whilst the homelessness all over downtown San Diego and beyond is shameful! California has so many made up taxes where none are for the homeless. Instead of the inappropriately applied, so called, resort tax, there should be a ‘home placement/building for the homeless’ tax! WTF!! Sandy Ego sucks!
San Diego is great. We were there to visit and celebrate with our friends. The Pantai Inn where we booked was a great location but one of the worst places we ever stayed. Very expensive and no service even though we requested room service. Asked for towels & told to hang out wet towels on hangers to dry as there were no towel racks in bathroom. Also no available hangers or place to hang them. I could go on but you get the drift.
The breakfast restaurant were great in La Jolla. The San Diego zoo was very nice had lot’s of shade and was very clean. Little Italy restaurants and food were great. They had music and the atmosphere was very nice.
We had an ocean view room but the windows were so dirty that the view was hard to see well. We asked the staff to correct that issue right after we checked in. It was never done. Since we were paying about double for the ocean view, I was really disappointed in the room. The rest of the facility was great.
We love San Diego and make a point to return to our haunts of years past. Highly recommend Coyote Grill in Carlsbad (kareoke on Monday nights), a baseball game at Petco Park, RENT at Kit Carson Park and Lempicka at LaJolla Playhouse. (July 2022). Spend a morning at Mission Beach followed by margaritas and tortilla soup at Guava for a light lunch. Pizza at Sammy's in LaJolla is a must. If we'd had one more day we would likely have gone to the art museum besides spending more time at our fabulous Casa Tranquility Airbnb property. We found getting around easy (thanks to my husband's pre planning) with freeways much less congested than Phoenix.
It is close to SeaWorld and far enough away from downtown and hotel circle that you don't feel overwhelmed. There is a private beach that is a plus. It's nice and quiet, and if your room has a view of the public beach, you can watch the SeaWorld fireworks show at night. Each room has a patio type setup with two pool loungers on them that you can relax on and just take in some sun. Front desk staff are very friendly. Parking is really good. You can easily get a spot right in front of your room. I would definitely stay here again.
Nice little hotel in a turn of the century building in the historic Gaslamp Quarter. Good location despite the noise and the amount of people in the surrounding streets (Gaslamp is the "party neighborhood" of San Diego), you can easily reach all the major sites of the city form Gaslamp. The rooms facing the little courtyard can be a bit noisy if there is a private event or a wedding in the courtyard of the hotel.
Anybody who has wrote a review and complained about this hotel is insane. This place is the biggest bang for your buck in probably all of San Diego county. The location is amazing, staff is outstanding and the rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Amazing amenities next to the pool. I’m very thankful I took this chance after reading some of the reviews.
The inn is located in the hotel circle which makes it accessible to attractions in San Diego. We chose this facility specifically for the outdoor amenities. We brought food back and were able to eat at the tables near the pool. There are two restaurants on the property so it's very convenient. There is also a nearby liquor store.
The manager and all the staff were very helpful and friendly. We felt very much at home there. The hotel is conveniently located to some of San Diego's attractions such as Little Italy and Balboa Park, It's close to restaurants. The hotel has some cute sitting areas that are nicely decorated and make it feel homey.
Downtown San Diego, San Diego
Great customer service, and overall great value for the price paid! The hostel is situated in Downtown San Diego, within walking distance of the bay and easy access to public transportation. It's worth mentioning that the hotel offers "social nights" which usually involve some sort of (free) meal.
Downtown San Diego, San Diego
The hotel has excellent location - it is right in the center of San Diego, it is easy to get around. There was not too much variety for breakfast but it was ok (cereals, bagels, cream cheese, jam, etc.). The room was clean and quiet (despite the location in downtown San Diego).
Nice staff. Cool hotel. Loved the gate/ door to enter the hotel and especially the free beer and wine bar that they have in the lobby in the late afternoon. Great hotel for a San Diego city stay. Didn’t use the pool but looked nice too. And very pet friendly!
La Jolla, San Diego
The hotel is located in a small neighborhood setting which was a 4 minute walk to restaurants and a 6 minute walk to La Jolla Shores beach. The location was central to all the things I wanted to do and was a short ride into downtown San Diego.
We love the facilities. Especially the location against a hill, at the end of South Hotel Circle. The grounds are well kept. Of course all is better when everything is completely open. We will stay here next time we are in San Diego!
The hotel is conveniently located to everything in downtown San Diego. The room is very small, but very clean. For a one-night business stay, it is fine. Everything looks brand new. Staff was very nice.
The location is good in that it is close to the harbour area (or one of them) and is easy to get too in Downtown San Diego - close to other hotels and within walking distance of some good eating places.
We stayed in San Diego to visit Mexico and a bit of the city itself so we needed best price/performance hotel as we didn't stay in it too much. This was just fine.
Very clean, COVID conscious, friendly staff. Elegant, dog-friendly hotel with luxurious room and stunning views of downtown San Diego. Definitely staying here again!
The location is really nice: Gaslamp district has a lot to offer, and it is very near to the San Diego Convention center and other hotels which also hold events.
A hidden gem. One of the least expensive hotels in San Diego, but actually quite charming. Huge rooms. Large free breakfast selections. Very pleased.
San Diego
Easy parking and easy off the freeway location. Used Lyft to get to event Downtown. Good price relative to most San Diego hotels/motels.
We like the stay very we thinking to book again at the Hotel Indigo San Diego Gaslamp quarters.
Good location, cl;ose to Gaslamp quarter and San Diego downtown
The property was beautiful. Lots of nature and great views. We loved the pools and hot tubs and the fact that the hotel was super dog friendly and comfortable. We enjoyed our balcony and it was nice to hang out and eat there. The restaurant at the hotel was really good and convenient. You can also bring your dog to eat with you. The location was perfect. Staff was really kind! We will definitely stay here again
