CanadaWe stayed one night on our way north. The hotel is easy to locate next to I81. The room is a nice size with desk and couch. It had a microwave and mini fridge. The bathroom has 2 sinks, one on the outside of the bathroom and the other in the bathroom. Could be usefull but we didn't use the outside one. The shower had good pressure. The bed was very comfortable.

Not a great feel here. Breakfast was sparse at best. Horrible arrangement of bathroom door - had to get yourself all the way in and close the door which missed the toilet by an inch - must have had a dimwit design this.
Toilet was super low and uncomfortable - unusually short - I am only 6' 2" and felt like my knees were touching my forehead - ridiculous! Staff was barely acceptable.

We were really impressed with Steamworks National Park.
We were really impressed with Steamworks National Park. The museum there is really laid out well. Also we visited the Marketplace, I was impressed with the scope ,of the plce. A College, a medical facility, a Post Office and lots of places to eat. That is a great way to sustain a mall.

Room was a great size. Saff was accommodating and friendly. Very interesting history and architecture. The bar restaurant food was really good. No relief area for dogs. Staff/management need to brush up on ADA requirements for service dogs.

Scranton has fallen on hard times after losing coal mining...
Scranton has fallen on hard times after losing coal mining and much of its rail traffic. One can sense the former grandeur of the city by looking at the scale of the buildings, yet the Scrantonians are warm and welcoming folks who work hard to do things right. Plus, it's quite inexpensive across the board. Steamtown Historic Park (free admission!) was alone worth the trip. They would do well to attract more tourist dollars so give Scranton a try!

The Steamtown Aquarium was wonderful.
The Steamtown Aquarium was wonderful. Steamtown mall has a very unique rock and collectibles shop that shouldn’t be missed if you love looking for treasures. The Steamtown National Historic site for all things trains…and more.

Scranton was a great place to visit.
Scranton was a great place to visit. Our stay was going well until the evening before our last day my 8 year old nephew was called a racist word by some young white men standing in the hallway of our hotel. He turned the corner of the hallway ahead of us headed to our room and when he turned the corner someone from the group looked at him and said "It's only a ni××××". They may have assumed he was alone. My nephew has never experienced anything like that before and it was upsetting.

Was in the perfect location for us. The hotel is close to I-81 north. The room was excellent and clean. Morning breakfast was included in our stay. They had a good selection of food to choose from.
I would definitely recommend booking this hotel.

Beautiful old train station renovated into a charming hotel. Parking is out the front and easy. Room was lovely but not a great view. Attached restaurant had THE best cheesesteak I've ever had. Excellent value for money overall.
