Best Western Sonoma Valley Inn & Krug Event Center is 30 minutes' drive to Napa Valley and 8 minutes' drive to Buena Vista Winery. The room with balcony and bathroom were spacious and charming. But the best thing was the staff. They are ready to go over and above their line of duty. Peter offered me some food and tea since I got to the hotel late and hadn’t had dinner. A day later, I booked a hot air balloon trip after 10pm for 5:30am that very next morning and was worried I’d have no transportation. After calling around to try to get me a taxi, Marie offered to drive me there herself at 4:45am. In the end, the balloon company picked me up but Marie’s generous offer and friendliness will always be remembered. Shout out to Marie, Peter, and supervisor Kendall for their excellent standard of hospitality!

Nestled in Sonoma County, the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa is adjacent to Napa Valley. This luxury inn offers an on-site, 18-hole championship golf course, a full-service spa, and a health club. The staff were amazing. The man that took us and our luggage to our room was extremely helpful. ( I wish I could remember his name, he did say he has been working there for 38 years)I forgot when booking our room to ask for an ADA room. He called had our room switched went and exchanged keys came back and set us up in a new room. You are so fortunate to have him on your staff.

Breakfast had all the choices required, location was close enough to the square that you could go by foot, whilst being far enough away to be quite and private.

The foods we tried were all delicious. The town square and park were quaint as well as the city itself. I loved the architecture of the homes in the downtown area. The area is very walkable and there were many unique shops.
If you like wine, this is the place for you. We were attending a wedding and on our downtime looked for places to hike and for other things to do. The hike we chose had no parking at the trailhead (?!) and it was hot so we gave up. There are cutesy shops in Sonoma, but, like cutesy shops everywhere, prices are inane. We enjoyed walking around the historical buildings in downtown Sonoma and learning about Gen. Vallejo. NO mosquitoes but not much to do if you don’t want to taste wine.
As always, El Pueblo Inn is well maintained and well run and has reasonable rates. It also has lovely grounds, with an inner courtyard and plantings all around the hotel so there is plenty of room to social distance.
Apart from my being baffled by the almost glorified persistence of post-Depression architecture in California (and perhaps other states), I found the general atmosphere of Sonoma as being distinguished upper-class, more so than other communities in the general area of Sacramento. I felt very comfortable there. Yes, I kept being surprised also by the presence of what appeared to be unkempt farm-hands in even the more expensive restaurants and cafes consuming without restraint.
Total charm and laid back feel. Unpretentious and leisurely. Vineyards galore. Relaxing just to drive around but of course wine and olive oil tasting (at The Olive Press at Jacuzzi Olive factory across from Clone Cellars) also fun. Would have walked around more but extremely hot when we went. Ideal time to go fall and Spring but still fun in summer. Also thoroughly enjoyed learning about very important California history that took place in Sonoma. Definitely worth exploring local history, much of which is in the town square. Especially enjoyed Sunflower Caffe for breakfast and Hopmonk Restaurant and Beer Garden for lunch or dinner. Fun atmosphere in both places.
We had a beautiful large room with a fireplace, comfortable seating and a very large bathroom. We really enjoyed the complimentary wine and cheese cocktail hour and the lovely hot tub. The front desk people were especially helpful and accommodating. I highly recommend the Inn at Sonoma.
This boutique hotel is the best value in Sonoma hands down! The room was beautiful and spacious, the location is literally right in the middle of plaza you can walk to any amazing restaurant or cafe! The hotel also gave us a complimentary wine tasting while we were there and Brandon who did our tasting was knowledgeable and awesome! Maggie is the GM and was incredibly welcoming! Family owned and you can tell because they make you feel right at home. We had a fantastic stay and would absolutely come back!
Sonoma
Ideal location in downtown Sonoma - could walk to dinner and shops every evening but just enough off the square that it was quiet and peaceful. They had a beautiful courtyard with comfortable seating around a fire pit for drinking wine or tea in the evening. Such a comfortable spacious room in a tranquil and serene setting.
Sonoma
Location was fine as long as you have a car. We taxied to the Sonoma square for the evening and dining. It wasn't far but too far for a walk. The restaurant around the corner offered a fantastic breakfast as the Motel offers none. The cost per night was fair compared to many accomodations. Cali isn't cheap
Room was very nice especially if you get the one with balcony. Food was fine - good coffee. Nice to have breakfast before going out for the day. Location is the best! Within walking distance of the plaza. Great staff. Very friendly.

Lovely B&B with walking distance to the Plaza. Large comfortable room. Friendly and welcoming host. Breakfast was great!
The attention to detail throughout the property is very impressive, and this is not always the case at historic hotels.
