Beautiful area with magnificent views at every turn. We were there for 2 days and were in the hospital the majority of the time for a relative but got out for a few hikes with the dog; very dog friendly town! The Spring was wet but the trails we found were accessible; Core Trail and Spring Creek Trail were magnificent. The Summer would be even better!
Typical Colorado ski town with egotistical people that think they are better then the lower class. But the location and escape out of town and the beauty of the mountains are amazing! So avoid the locals that are probably not true locals and just go play in the mountains!
Steamboat is a really pretty town. Did not like that the in-town hot springs was under construction. Much was closed off. I would go back and go to the Strawberry Hot springs area. We loved snowmobiling. There were great restaurants! I didnt take the time to shop but would have enjoyed that. I have heard its great in the summer so would like to go back.
A wonderful place to stay, activities for winter and summer are extensive and the resort is wonderful. Plenty of activities and great food and drinks in town and if your willing to drive, snowmobiling and horseback riding are options too.
Had a great time exploring the resort and downtown area, Mambo is a wonderful Italian restaurant and we had an amazing meal at The Ore House (A steakhouse). We relaxed at strawberry hotsprings as well, overall wonderful trip!
The town is a bit touristy for me. However, we did meet some locals that gave us a bit of the true flavor or Steamboat. The price for skiing is ridiculously high - $199 per day for a lift ticket. Not a great mountain for snowboarders either as there are too many flat places and cat walks for beginner runs. Free bus service is awesome! Runs every 10 min., nice drivers, and efficient.

I liked that it is dog friendly. And they don’t charge for pets. However, it comes with a price. More pets stay there, therefor more upkeep is required and I feel the hotel does not manage it correctly. There was a lot of damage in our room from another dog(s) and the carpet smelled horrible of dog. Just because we have a dog, does not mean we live this way and prefer not to spend our vacation living in dog.

The update room was comfortable and stylish. The location was excellent. We booked a studio, but we ended up in a two bedroom suite. The free shuttle was convenient for trips downtown. The ski storage is free and very convenient, and they wax your skis.

Really good location in downtown steamboat. This is an old downtown hotel which has been updated and nicely maintained. It is very clean and nice. The only drawback is that the rooms are quite small, but it's a nice place which we enjoyed.
