Torrey, is honestly a secret gem.
Torrey, is honestly a secret gem. It is definitely out of the way, but you get the beauty of Zions National Park with out the crowds. We are going back for sure. The locals are just good down to earth people.

Torrey is right next to the entrance to the amazing Capitol Reef National Park. While Torrey itself doesn't have much to offer other than a couple of cute stores and the wonderful Capitol Burger food truck, Capitol Reef is not to be missed.

Torrey is a small town and the perfect base for exploring Capitol Reef. If you go, be sure to stop at Etta Place Cider for a post hike flight of ciders, and then dinner at Chak Balam Mexican Restaurant. Both places were our best food/drinks on our 3 NP tour that included 3 nights in Moab.

Torrey has plenty of places to stay and eat and get fuel
We love staying in Torrey.
The Rock Reef Cafe is oor favorite place to eat.

Torrey is a small rural town with limited services but sits...
Torrey is a small rural town with limited services but sits adjacent to the Capital Reef National Park. Access is very good and the surrounding area is quite beautiful. People are very friendly and the local services are good despite the limited number of options for restaurants and shopping.

Make a reservation for Hunt and Gather Restaurant for dinner. Chuckwagon General Store has a great deli section for lunch.
Drive all of the scenic drive, watch the movie at the visitor center, visit the Gifford House early for pie. If you are there in season pick fruit in the orchard.

Good standaard hotel with NO extra facilities and a bit overpriced. Most second floor rooms have a nice balcony/galery view at the mountains. Be prepared your neighbours leave very early in the morning. You will feel their foot steps vibrating through the concrete/wooden floors. Great Mexican restaurant next door.

Great location, close to Capitol Reef Visitor Centre. It is a standard American hotel, big rooms big beds, small bathrooms 😀 There is a restaurant in the hotel, which serves good meals (also big).
