We absolutely loved our stay here. Comfortable beds, very clean, gracious staff and a stunning view of the Rockies out back. Loooooved that the indoor pool was open 24 hours! Very pet friendly, wish we would've brought our furbabies along.

I liked the location and easy drive up access to the front door of the room. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Our cable tv went out at 4 am and needed to be rebooted. I love this little town. The drive in was exciting with spectacular scenery. I heard someone say Trinidad is a run down city. I couldn't disagree more! Trinidad is alive and well. Yes it is an old city with old structures but this is part of its beauty. I would have like to stay a few more days.
We didn't do much while there as we were returning home to Texas from a short trip to Colorado. We did go to the local Safeway for a few items and loved the store. 💙 We are not fortunate to have great markets in the northeast corner of the upper Panhandle if Texas.
A good Chinese restaurant is found in the "Wonderful" Restaurant 華福 that is located near the I-25. We enjoyed scouring through some antique stores (too expensive!) and the Noah's Arc Thrift store (a joyful adventure), as well as other artistic and book stores in the area. Those local people we met were generally engaging and pleasant, even at the Downtown Motel, which we would not recommend for a good night's rest. The modern town is very spread out, and manifests some unusual modern homes, especially on the side where the small local university is located. We had hoped to take the Colorado Highway 12 into the mountains to reach Alamosa, but snow came at that time, and we did not have adequate tires to take on the challenging weather.
I have been in Trinidad on and off since 2007. For a Texan, must eat at Habanero's for lunch, and Tequila's is for the evening. Disappointed Bella Luna's Pizza closed. At the base of Fishers Peak, this small town has some cool downtown shops and art galleries. Driving up Highway 12 to Cuchara and La Veta is a must. Trinidad residents own lots of old Chevy and GMC trucks still on the road. Shop at Safeway on the Purgatiore river and view the steam roller and locomotive. Check the Trinidad brick roads, Baca House, historic Carnegie library, many old buildings and houses. In the foothills toward the Sangres, must have a truck or 4WD, Berwind, Boncarbo, Torres, Tercio, Gulnare, Cordova Pass, Stonewall, Weston, and more ghost towns.
Trinidad is a beautiful little town. However the Super 8 was horrible. Service was rude as soon as I got there. I’d been on the road for twelve hours and I was looking forward to a good rest. I picked this place because it was pet friendly. I walked in, registered and asked to use the restroom...denied! No public restroom. So I stated to register. When it came down to it, she asked if I had a pet. “Yes,a cat.” Denied. No cats allowed. But the website says pets are welcome. So now I’m in a town...12 hours from home with no place to stay. I will never stay at a Super 8 again! Awful place! Do not stay here!
Very nice hotel, slightly outdated and could use you've for appliances, but room was comfortable, very spacious, clean, and very had everything needed for a comfortable nights rest. Staff was very friendly and helpful, and you get a little bag of snacks when you check in.

The hotel was perfect for our purposes. The pool was clean and warm, coffee always flowing in the lobby. Breakie was a nice full meal. The room was comfortable with a desk and chair and an extra lounge chair, as well as microwave and fridge. Convenient location beside Walmart.

Perfect place for an overnight while traveling to Denver. Trinidad appears to be a neat little town to explore, though we didn't have time to stay. The hotel had a very nice restaurant - The Peak.

The hotel is right off the highway going into Trinidad, however there was no traffic noise inside the room. It was easy access to all area’s of the town, including, restaurants, gas stations, etc.

Very clean and roomy. The style of the hotel was a little retro but nice. Lots of updates to the decor so even though the building was retro, the rooms were up-to-date.
