This was our first time in Twin Falls. We came to see Shoshone Falls which was beautiful. We had dinner at Tony Carino's which was not too far from the hotel. We would like to have stayed longer and seen more of the area which is beautiful. We were depending on using a GPS to get around. Our GPS seemed to have difficulty with the streets which curled around through a shopping center. We would have avoided using the GPS if we had known that the way through the shopping center was a street and not just a means to navigate the shopping center. Still, we enjoyed our short stay in Twin Falls.
I'm a local I moved away 4 years ago. Just came back to visit family I noticed alot of things have changed in the town, everything is over priced and over rated, traffic is ridiculous most town locals are very very rude so get ready for that. The canyon is amazing and God's county
Beautiful town, very friendly people and all the stores and food options anyone could want. The Perrine Bridge is really nice and you can hike the rim for miles. A word of warning, DO NOT expect any falls to be more than a trickle in the fall, especially with the long drought they've had.
Early October is the best time to see the foliage in the valley. The problem is the waterfalls are really not impressive. The thing is they redirect the water to the turbines because of the water shortage in the fall. So you have to visit Twin Falls twice: once in the spring to see the waterfalls and in early October to see the beautiful foliage in the valley. We really didn't know about he foliage in Idaho but it rivals New Hampshire's. It's even better with the mountains/cliffs in the backdrop. We also went to Sun Valley and the foliage was very pretty there as well.
Lots to see around the falls and the trip out to Shoshone Falls was interesting. Even thought there was very little water, the formations were fascinating. The Visitor Center in Twin Falls was very informative, and the park area and walking trails beautiful and inviting.
Twin Falls is a fairly dull town for someone looking for sights and adventure. It's not a destination for someone who doesn't have a specific reason to visit. The snake river and golf are perhaps the best bets for those who need something active to keep entertained. I've come several times to visit family who lives here. Shoshone Falls is fantastic to see when there is plenty of water.
Great hotel for an overnight stay in Twin Falls. Close to the Canyon rim trail and visitor center, a great local restaurant (Elevation 486 is only 3 minutes away by car) and close to Target and local retail for anything you might need.
Cheap price and good location to walk to the falls (mostly Shoshone - you can push it to the Twin Falls if you're a good walker). Target closeby but poor choice of food. Good enough to spend one night.
