This Texas motel features guest rooms with expanded cable TV. Motel 6 Van Horn is 1.7 miles from Red Rock Ranch Tours. Rooms provide desks and telephones. Management and ownership spent some nice funds a year or two ago and redid the outside and the interior throughout. The staff was superior and friendly. The room was EXCELLENT! I am coming back in early June for another night. I wish all Motel 6's were this nice.

Located in the picturesque area once known as the Old Spanish Trail through Texas, the Quality Inn in Van Horn offers easy access to the 18th-century frontier town at the Clark Hotel Museum. All else was good, but old coffee pod still in pot.

Offering complimentary WiFi access, Desert Inn is located in Van Horn. Every room includes a flat-screen cable TV and work desk. I can't thank the person who let me check into my room earlier than the reservation claims. He was extremely kind and my room was super comfortable. As others have mentioned, you can tell it's a bit older, but honestly it seemed very much renovated and suuper comfy. Thank you so much! It didn't have that "bad hotel" smell either... very fresh and clean smelling.

The staff gave me what I asked for hr even made sure that I reached the location safe. The location was not hard to find if you follow the directions. I went there to meditate and it was amazing. The neighbor had a sweet dog and they where kind to me. If your looking for a place of peace you should go.

Stayed here six years ago and is just as good then and now. Only change is the refrigerator was larger than last time. All was good in the room. Great to see that good places are still in business. Good staff on duty at midnight when we arrived at the motel.
Super 8 stay was very nice and restful; however, Sands Motel experience horrible due to no actual mattress and having to sleep on box springs! We drove around a bit just to look and all lodgings are easy to get to from Interstate 10. We did enjoy our meal at Lindsey's Cafe. I'm very particular about Spanish rice and I'd eat theirs any day and the staff was very nice.
Small town struggling probably due to the pandemic issues. Many closed businesses. We did not stay for any visiting purposes, just an overnight for travel twice in one week (each way). We did have a great local Hispanic/Southwest style breakfast at Mom's Cafe, a tiny local gem. Another breakfast at Gilbert's restaurant because Mom's was closed on Monday was not bad, but not as good as Mom's.
Hotel advertised as being pet friendly. Near freeway. I drove a BMW X5. Used GPS. Address given was incorrect. Call Hotel for directions. When I arrived, I was asked if I had a dog, and there is a fee. I explained Knights Inn Van Horn advertised being pet friendly. "It Is but there is a $25. Fee." I should've been told that at time of booking. Besides we carry a portable crate for our dog. We should receive a refund of $25.
The hotel looked like it had been remodeled, like it said in the advertising, but it was cheaply done. There was dirt on the floors, towels were thin, and bed was not very comfortable. Breakfast was not good as they had run out of several things and did not replace them for the rest of the guests. We would not return to this particular one.
If you can dodge all the tractor trailer trucks parked everywhere along the street, it's a good little town. Plenty of mountains to look at on most sides of the town. People are friendly. Some good churches, and plenty of motels. There are a number of tourist things to view in the area including hiking trails, and it's a good hunter's location: mule deer, antelope, etc.
This was terrible! They had had a fire and the room smelled of smoke! We were seriously concerned for our health as we tried to sleep and the smell felt overbearing. I made this reservation far enough in advance to have been forewarned of the smell. After driving 9 hours we were stuck there and the hotel was booked full. In the morning we left ASAP, David at the front desk could not compensate us in anyway because I used BOOKING.COM. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE! This was a horrible stay!!!!
Van Horn
The staff was great and the breakfast was real good, no problems there. The room was okay, comfortable. The bathroom however, was old, outdated, there was no place to put our toiletries, the towels were to small, thin and old. There was some kind of handicap chair in the bathroom which looked broken??? The tub was gross, looked dirty. We will not stay there again. The price was lower than other hotels in the area, but not worth it.
Van Horn
It's Korona time - everything is depressed and slow. The neighborhood is rather industrial / commercial, with the truckstop down the road for fuel and roller-grill delites to eat. That said, the Desert Inn was clean, quiet and comfortable. Linens were clean and crisp, no stains or bugs. Older property but well maintained. Would stay here again if in the Van Horn area.
Van Horn was a town we found ourselves in around 1700 hours and were looking for a hotel...what a find! The building was a hotel then a bank and the n a hotel again. It was well known before the Interstate Highway system but appears to be coming back into favor. Friendly staff, nice restaurant and good food?
Van Horn
This is an older property but has remodeled bathroom. Parking is right outside the room. The bed was very comfortable. This facility is pet friendly. I had a good night's stay. I felt safe.
The hotel and the room was very clean. The breakfast was very good. Egg white with Veggie omelets. And refreshed frequently.
The location was easy to find. Dog-friendly hotel with areas around the property to take my dog.
Room was clean and the hotel was closed to the highway.
