It's a quiet little town.

It's a quiet little town. My brother initially lived in Wallowa when they first moved to that side of the mountains. If you prefer a quiet place to stay rather than the hustle and bustle of Joseph then I'd suggest staying in Wallowa and then driving to Joseph and Wallowa Lake during the day for your activities. Joseph is less than 20 miles away. The view of the surrounding mountains both when driving through the canyon to get to Wallowa and once you're in Wallowa are amazing. The majestic mountains are awe-inspiring.

No restaurants were open after 6 PM on a Sunday evening...

No restaurants were open after 6 PM on a Sunday evening during height of tourism season. We understand though as it was haying season. We were able to buy food at the local grocery store and microwaved our dinners.

The personal and professional customer service of the managers. We consider them friends. We (or our friend group) have been coming here for many years. We come back due to the friendly managers and location of the property in the county.

I was born and raised in Wallowa and even worked at the hotel in the summer during my high school years. It has been updated, super clean, cozy, and the staff was very nice.

It was our first trip to Wallowa and our first with our two puppers. They both settled right in and enjoyed their stay as much as we did.

The room was spotless and comfortable. Very cute. The only drawback was no fault of the hotel.
