This hotel is located in The Wharf, part of a mile long stretch of DC's Potomac River featuring restaurants, shops and recreational space.

Thank you to the manager for giving us a nice room with a view on the river. Bed was so comfortable. Really clean, equiped. Really clean and nice bathroom. We were only stopping on our way, but we will certainly come back for a longer stay. The area seems so nice, we need to come back. There is a valet service for the parking. Maybe change that in the equipment services as I almost hesitated to reserve since its written « no parking » which is not accurate. Good and fast valet available!

A World Icon

Featuring tons of national treasures, Washington DC is the US capital and home to the world’s most iconic presidential building – The White House. Most visitors start at the National Mall, a huge park stretching from the Potomac River to the Capitol Building. It also encompasses the Washington Monument obelisk and the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, of particular significance in US civil rights, commemorated by the latest addition - the Martin Luther King Memorial.

Also here are 11 of the city’s 17 incredible Smithsonian museums, including the unmissable National Museum of American History.

If all this gets too much, wander around Georgetown’s Colonial buildings and take a break in one of the student cafés. Many world cuisines are represented in Washington DC and the city also has its fair share of live music venues, with a surprisingly good jazz scene. The National Symphony Orchestra is based here and the Kennedy Center hosts a range of productions.

DC’s planning policy means there are no skyscrapers, so if you fly into Washingon Dulles Airport over the city, you see its white buildings standing proud. The city is also served by Baltimore-Washington Thurgood Marshall Airport and Washington National Airport. All are quite a way out, so leave plenty of time to get there from your hotel, apartment or guesthouse booked through Booking.com.

I really don’t have to come back. If you have family or friends that are local and can expose to all of things.. have fun. But as a tourist visiting No. it’s an educational experience translation .. can be boring. Depending on what you like. A city that must to know, a lot of history, many different museums, all of them are free. Easy and accessible public transportation. Make appointments in advance at emblematic places. I was surprised that the White House is smaller than I imagine, nothing impressive except for the numerous Secret Service cars. The best and most impressive place is the Capitol and you cannot miss visiting the Capitol library.

There was so much to see and museums to explore.

There was so much to see and museums to explore. It was an easy city to walk around if your mobility is good, otherwise good public transportation. We felt very safe at all times. There was great cafes, restaurants and plenty of eatery vans depending on what you wanted. The museums were reasonably priced or free and was loaded with amazing artifacts, history and fun interactive activities for all ages (especially the Spy Museum). It was well worth staying for 3+ days most definitely.
