Its such a clean city, most inner cities can be very dirty, its busy but not crowded. Lots of parks and green spaces. Well kept streets, gardens, paths, and roads. Beautiful architecture, history, and lot's of art and culture everywhere. Plenty of statues and art, little hidden gems everywhere. A really beautiful city, along with the must see history such a Lincoln memorial, reflecting pool, monument bridge etc. Plus the vast array of museums, like the Smithsonian, natural history museum, aviation museum etc. People are general very helpful and friendly too
My family and I visit DC once per year. We visit the outdoor sites on rented scooters and find new indoor places to see each time. It’s a great place to walk at a leisurely pace and take in the scenery, eat from the food trucks or ride a bike around the city. There is something for everyone.
It's hard to beat Washington, D.C. for sightseeing. Especially if you're interested in the history or the government of the United States. I traveled from another area of the country to visit, and I didn't have to rent a car. I used trains and buses, and (especially) walked. Few US cities are as walkable as DC, which is among the qualities I appreciate most of all. Many of the most interesting attractions (parks, monuments, certain museums) are free to visit. On top of all that, the city is absolutely full of amazing restaurants. If you've never been to Washington, D.C., it's worth a special trip purely for the purpose of exploration.
Met a lot of rude, mean, and inflexible locals and employees. The food at the supermarkets and shops were expensive. The metro was too confusing to navigate, and trains infrequent. Employees were not helpful. I did not liked that they starved their visitors by not allowing them to carrying food and water in their bags. Food is overpriced at the sites. Too many arts and cultural places have airport-like screening (and so many varying rules), which was inconvenient and uncomfortable. Some employees were on power trips. Did not liked that some sites required pre-booking, most tourists don't know their schedules nor know the "rules". Lots of sites had sections that were closed for under renovations - that most tourists wanted to see. The museum and gallery hours should be open until late in the evening, it's hard to see anything when everyone has banker hours (10am to 5pm) and they are over 20 locations to visit. Only American citizens and permanent residents can tour the White House and Pentagon. International visitors' embassies do not book them anymore. The weather is unpredictable and cold. I'm Canadian and found it cold. Have data on your phone. There's no map or free wifi.
Most of the attractions Museums and main sites of attraction were in the central area, all within walking distance from the hotel. We visited many museums booked beforehand. The Smithsonian was awesome! The Natural History Museum The Holocaust Museum etc . We booked a private City tour of all of the main sites with Vivator as there were 7 of us. The driver was very informative and dropped us off at sites for us to explore before being picked up A very clean friendly and safe City.
Our nation's capital is immense in size. We walked an average of 8-plus miles per day to see a very small fraction of it! We also used Metro extensively to position ourselves closer to the more remote spots. Stunning photography and museums. We will be back....highly recommended for others; best to pick other sights if the line is way too long in front of any particular interest (e.g. National Archives; Capitol Hill). Due to budget constraints and the high cost of an errand which brought us here, we ate lunch at various Georgetown shopping district small shops. Surprise! The restaurant at the Capitol Building, downstairs, has good tasting food at reasonable prices. Also, our motel was near Whole Foods on 23rd Street NW, and it received some of our business. This was kept in the fridge; saved us a lot of money! (We are an older couple nearing retirement.)
I enjoyed my stay immensely. My room was clean, big, the bathroom and walk in shower were also big and I slept very well even though I usually travel with ear plugs anyway. The strong box was useful to keep valuables in and I was able to charge my phone right by the bed too. As a solo traveller, this hotel was a cheaper option to many other 4 star hotels in DC. Dupont Circle/Adams Morgan is a lovely neighbourhood. I give the hotel 8/10 and I was happy with my choice. The staff were all kind, helpful and polite. Thanks.
it was a very good experience!!!! I think it is one of the best examples : price =quality Room was perfectly clean There were all necessary facilities Very quiet and warm. Very comfortable beds Enough space for three people. The parking is not so far away from the hotel, about 2 minutes walk. There is a building with a lot of empty space for your car. It is very important in Washington DC availability of parking.
Good and safe location in NW, Washington, DC. Close to the west end of the National Mall. A 20 minute walk. Two Metro-rails nearby and the GW University Hospital. Nice facilities. The queen size beds were “extremely” comfortable and the pillows were good. The room was very clean, as was the entire hotel. "Most" of the staff were friendly and very casual.
Very swanky hotel. Probably the nicest hotel I've stayed at before, though I usually cheap out. Patio restaurant is overpriced as is everything in D.C. Breakfast inside was a better value than the Patio (same price). Expect $100 meal for a family of 4. Walking distance to a lot of nice restaurants, though I have kids so that didn't happen.
Friendly staff,, large supermarket next doors (large according to German standards) Some bars in the streets around. Okay price, regarding the outrageous prices other Washington Hotels asked at the time of our stay.
Decent location in Washington, it's an older hotel and a bit creaky with it but I don't mind that. A comfortable bed also and a very effective Aircon unit. Old style tavern on ground floor too.
Great location. Lovely staff. Immaculately clean. Very convenient to have nice bar and restaurant within the building. Not cheap but worth it for a city hotel.
The staff were super helpful in mailing my charger back - thanks so much! Coffee was best I had in DC (though not cheap). Restaurant also delicious.
It is located in a nice area, an it is 15 min walk from a metro. The hotel is super simple, but comparing with others it was one of the cheapest.
Great hotel with fantastic staff in an ideal waterfront location. We walked from the hotel to see most of the sights in Washington.
The breakfast was varied, the staff very attentive. I found a cheaper parking just in front of the Hotel.
I liked location, near Metro. Easy walk to National Mall. My room was nice. Personnel were very nice
good location oldest hotel in Washington 2star so you get that standard large rooms
Location, location, location. Also it was relatively a cheap hotel
Hotel correcto para visitar Washington. Personal amable
