WE KNOW THE AREA WELL - WE CAMPED THERE FOR OVER 30 YEARS = WELLS BEACH RESORT NEAR THE MCDONALD AND ONE MILE RD. WE LOVED ALSO RENT AT SEA MIST RESORT BEING CLOSE TO MANY FACILITIES HAVING SOLD OUR TRAILER OVER SIX YEARS AGO.

We have gone to Wells Beach for many years and love it.
We have gone to Wells Beach for many years and love it. It is not as busy as York or Hampton or Old Orchard. It is close to those beaches if you want to visit during your stay at Wells. There is a Hanniford there which is great. We used to go to Moodys right on the beach but it has a new owner and things changed too much,

Cute quiet little town with plenty of restaurants & quaint local shops. Beaches are beautiful but Rocky in some parts. Check tides schedules if you plan on walking the beaches. Wells is a great little town.
Wells is a great little town. I visited off season, but there were many places still open. Mimi’s Quilt Shop further down Route 1 was awewsome! I had a great dinner at Mike’s Clam Shack and breakfast at the Egg and I. Although there were many antique shops, none seemed open when I was visiting.

We loved our beds. They were so comfortable.
We loved our beds. They were so comfortable. It’s a convenient place to stay because every thing you needed is in the same road. Just up the road from Wells beach , Maine Diner and the Egg and I. I loved that! We were put in a downstairs room and the people upstairs kept walking around and we heard it all night. I would avoid getting a downstairs room. That was the worse. Beautiful area - the beach is gorgeous! Perkins Cove Candies, Congdon'e Donuts and The Bitter End restaurant are 'must visit' stops. The Bitter End's food was unique the spot was fun and festive. Had a spectacular spicy marguerita with their house-made jalapeno tequila. Not a 'touristy' spot either. I might drive the 2.5 hours just to eat there again. lolAAnonymous
