An absolutely perfect stay - the rooms, scenery, and hotel are even more beautiful than in the photos. Truly one of the most beautiful yet homely hotels we have ever visited. Staff went above and beyond to accommodate our needs, nothing was too big an ask. I felt lucky every single second I was there! On site restaurant is delicious, Narbona makes most of its own produce which made it even tastier. The wine was incredible of course. We can’t wait to come back one day

Carmelo
Located in Carmelo in the Colonia region, CABAÑA LA TOSCANA features a terrace. This lodge features free bikes, a garden as well as free WiFi. A whimsical little place. The owners couldn’t have been more helpful and flexible., and you can tell they genuinely care about their guests. The cottage has everything you need for a comfortable stay, and the location is, in our opinion, the best out of all the options in the area. It’s walking distance to a couple of wineries and restaurants, and the other wineries are a very short drive away, as is the downtown Carmelo. Very clean, comfortable, the breakfast is abundant, the privacy guaranteed since the cabaña is a single cottage far in the back of the property, so the only thing you can hear are the birds. Absolutely recommended. Thank you Aldo!

A cute little town off the beaten path. If you are looking for a quiet and relaxing, very authentic stay...Carmelo is for you! The ferry from Buenos Aires only takes a little over an hour to Colonia del Sacramento and the from there you can take the bus to Carmelo. Really easy!
We stayed 3 nights and should have done 4. Reason: Wine tasting is not like in Napa or Sonoma -- one winery can take all day and we only were able to do 2 in 2 days. Missed out on a winery we really wanted to get to because we didn't realize reservations were required. So, plan ahead, have your hotel make wine tasting reservations for you, and then relax. You'll need a car if you intend to visit all wineries in the area. The main town is low key but we had decent meals there and it was easy to find parking. Felt very safe. Will definitely go back.
Carmelo is a laid back, attractive town. There are a fair number of shops, cafes etc. The river beaches we saw were lovely and clean. The water was a perfect temperature. Parking was easy etc. The one way system round the town can take some getting used to and isn’t always clearly signposted at each turn so be careful. There are some great wineries in the area.
The town itself seemed very quiet. It’s fascinating - like going back in time with old cars and pony and traps. Around Carmelo there are a number of excellent wineries for wine tastings, some offer platters of cheese and meat, well worth a visit.

Carmelo
Very helpful owner!! Helped me to organize activities and if I had any questions. The place is about 2-3 km outside of the city but right next to some of the best wineries in Carmelo. They provided me with a bike so it was really easy to get around. The room itself was clean, and has a small kitchen (but no stove) and is well equipped
We LOVED our stay at Bemar. The owner/manager was incredibly attentive and kind. We loved using the bikes to get to the beach, the town, and wineries. Everything was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious as was the restaurant for dinner when we didn’t feel like going out. This hotel is amazing and we’ll definitely be back!
Carmelo
This was a beautiful, comfortable, and above all tranquil place to spend a couple nights while exploring the lovely area around Carmelo. I especially enjoyed being able to have a place to crash after enjoying a long, leisurely wine tasting and lunch at the winery itself. (Do treat yourself to this experience, if you stay!)

A very nice, comfortable apartment in separate building. Pool and surrounding garden are really beautiful. Neighborhood is great. Convenient walk or bike ride into town or the beach. Gustavo is awesome. Very friendly and accommodating. Just to stay here is worth a visit to Carmelo.
