Ha Giang Hostel, Ha Giang Historic Hotel, and Ha Giang Wings Bungalow are some of the popular hotels in Ha Giang.
Ha Giang is the wild side of Vietnam, hugging the country's land frontier with China. We were two Singaporean/Malaysian who visited during the winter season in end-December. Almost everyone we encountered were Westerners who found it odd that Asians would subject themselves to such harsh travel conditions. Spent 6 days motorbiking in the province, and did not even cover half of its area. Started in Ha Giang city and plowed through Quan Ba, Yen Minh, Dong Van, Meo Vac, Mao Due, Du Gia. Temperature in the day never exceeded 15 degrees C; drops to near-zero at night. We stayed in homestays of ethnic minorities and budget motels. There weresome settlements that were evidently less well-to-do than others; it was extremely humbling to witness and experience first-hand how they retained their primitive ways of living whilst adapting to unforgiving mountainous terrains that were almost cut off from civilization. The landscape was both agrestal and meticulously cultivated. Goats, black pigs, buffaloes roam around. At every bend, you can see the local indigenous people tending to corn pastures and bee-keeping, decked in colourful tribal costumes, which seemed out-of-place in the frigid weather. Overall, it was an eye-opening, astonishing trip that one should experience one in his lifetime.
Rural provincial capital of the Province of the same name Ha Giang. The main attraction is of course motorbiking the Ha Giang loop. But staying in town is also nice to walk, eat, drink and just relax outside and watch the locals.
Mind-blowing landscape with rock mountains, green river and rice ladder fields (oh, and don't formet wheatbucket flowers too). Just perfect for bike trip. Plus, very rich in cultures. The people, though a bit trained for commercial activities already, are still kind and friendly.
We spent 4 nights and 5 days travelling the Ha Giang Loop on mopeds. It was such a wonderful experience, we stayed in several homestays which gave us a real taste of life in Vietnam. Everyone we met was very friendly and helpful. Its a shame we didnt go later in the year as there was a lot of crop burning which meant the views were a little spoiled and we saw little sunshine. But we got a real flavor for the area would return again.
It's simply great! I have been all over Vietnam and the loop is one of the most beautiful and picturesque places in it. I highly recommend doing to Skywalk till the end, because the last 2 km are mind blowing.
An amazing place to visit. The weather wasn’t great when I visited in January but I knew it wasn’t the right season before I went. The scenery was incredible and the driving was such good fun. Highly recommend.
