Many families visiting Ho Chi Minh City loved staying at Central Studios at Ben Thanh Market by CIRCADIAN, The Victory Airport Hotel, and Laguna Hotel.
It’s a hectic, very asian city. Pollution levels are high due to traffic. It’s noisy and very vibrant. I like the fact it doesn’t segregate - you’ll find people eating on the floor next to corporate buildings.
I love that HCM is a walking city. The shopping places are all nearby each other. So many options for food and beverage. Love the huge trees all around the city and most of all Grab was convenient, fast, and cheap! And there’s JOLLIBEE!
I frequent HCMC a lot because I am in love with a special lady in HCMC and also because i have relatives who live here. If i had to recommend the favourite places: anywhere along the streets that has a street vendor Where did i eat? Ask any locals for a good recommendation for the nearest food stall. Is it easy to get around Ho Chi Minh City? GRAB, GOJEK, BE. there is no uber, forget that... asia has its own hauling apps. Or even get a motorbike and join the crowd.. it looks messed up when you are watching them, the moment u join them in riding you will feel the flow.. like little kids walking in groups to the school canteen. What would you avoid on your next visit? Really, there is nothing to avoid. just immerse yourself. maybe avoid scams? oh yea and all the historical sites and tourists hotspots... those are meaningless. just meet some locals and enjoy the exchange of minds.
We elected to stay in District 1 as the closest to most attractions in the city: museums, markets, parks and important landmarks like the opera house amd cathedral. We elected to walk to most locations and eat locally in a broad range of restaurants and street stalls enabling us to sample wonderful Vietnamese cuisine. We enjoyed the local markets and more conventional department stores as well. People we met were friendly, welcoming and helpful. Our only criticism applies to the state of the footpaths which in many places are either broken or in disepair.
Love the temples, culture and people - Mekong Delta trip was amazing. Take the water bus on the Saigon river or a dinner is nice. The city is extremely busy and very loud which was exciting! Crossing the road is not for the faint of heart!! Make sure to download the Grab app this was a very economical way to get around either by motorcycle or car. The markets are a lot of fun, be prepared to haggle - remember the price is what you are willing to pay rather than how low you can get it down to!
GOOD 1. I liked the historical interest of the city. A city tour I did covered the War Remnants Museum (very moving), the Reunification Palace and the Old Post Office. 2. On another tour I also enjoyed the opportunity to explore the Mekong Delta area with its various industries and scenes. 3. I really, really, really liked the Vietnamese people I met there especially hotel staff, tour staff, cafe or shop owners. As a middle-aged solo traveller, to me they were always friendly and helpful - without exception! 4. Vietnam has Grab, their equivalent to Uber. You can download the English language version of it. A good option to taxis, whose fares can be unpredictable! NOT SO GOOD 5. Although prices of most goods and services were lower than in my home country (Australia) they were higher than in other parts of Vietnam I visited. 6. The local traffic is just a bit too busy and crossing the road was an exercise in daredevilry. 6. I did not like the heat and humidity of the city, (Nha Trang and further north was much more comfortable weather-wise) but I was unable to do anything about that except have cool places to retire to, which I did.
Superior accommodation close to the Tan son Nhat (domestic and international) airport Ho Chi Minh city. We were upgraded to a small apartment and this hotel is everything you expect from an IBIS hotel. There is a free shuttle bus to and from the airport (you have to arrange pick up and drop off with the reception staff), and there are many restaurants and coffee shops a short walk from the hotel. Staying at this hotel is a great way to start or finish your Vietnam journey if you arrive or depart from HCM city.
Considering how hard it is to find a legitimately good hotel in Ho Chi Minh City (that at least matched the listings), A&A Toronto was exceptional. We stayed in a twin bed room that was sufficiently big, had a fridge, comfy beds and AC, good water pressure and a bath tub. We had unlimited pho and good coffee for breakfast, the receptionist and guard were very friendly, and the location was very very good. It was within walking distance to major spots in HCM. Definitely recommended.
The location of the hotel is excellent. It is close to shops, street food stalls, convenience stores, markets and all that. Although the hotel is located in a lively area, the rooms are very quiet and cozy. The staff are very attentive and helpful. My particular thanks to Ms. Huong who was very friendly, enthusiastic, and was always accommodating. Definitely that Airport Saigon Hotel is our first choice on our next visit to Ho Chi Minh City.
District 4, Ho Chi Minh City
We liked the size of the appartment, the view, location and pool. We got an appartment in the building called Millenium, not Rivergate, it was placed on the other side of the highway. We were on 30rd floor, non of the pictures on Booking.com shows this appartment, we didnt know that before arrival. It takes about 20 min with kids to walk to the city district 1, but it is cheap with taxi/grab too.
The property is well located in District 1, and it is close to the main attraction you may want to visit around Saigon. Moreover, the complimentary tea a a great plus - you may think that having it around 3:00-4:30 is a bit early, but I found it perfect to break down my days and enjoy some fresher temperature inside the hotel while visiting the city all day long
We were going to spend just one night in Ho Chi Minh City but, thanks to the good treatment received at the hostel and the recommendations that the owner gave us, we spent 4 nights and 5 days. The breakfast was spectacular, they even brought us juices in the room. We have been in Vietnam for a month and this hotel has been DEFINITELY the best.
The room was very clean and Very Kindly staff. The noise was very low because little away from district 1. I could night view in the city but not a nice skyline. I was satisfied with all things about the hotel. There was a dart and football machine on the rooftop. and I could smoke.
Binh Thanh, Ho Chi Minh City
It is worth staying in this property. Host is wonderful... He helped us arrange for the tours. The Apartment is fully furnished and has supermarkets downstairs and local street food available in 50 mts... I strongly recommend it to stay in Ho Chi Minh city.
The hotel located right in the centre of Ho Chi Minh City within walking distance to Ben Thanh market as well as nearby landmarks. Surrounded by food and bustling street, it is the perfect location with things to do.
