Asian Tradition, French Flair and Growing Modernity
With delicious Vietnamese aromas, small silk shops and ancient pagodas, the streets of Ho Chi Minh City dazzle tourists with their vibrant atmosphere. Its rich culture includes beautiful French colonial palaces mixed with modern skyscrapers that show the power of Vietnam’s economic capital.
Whether you decide to visit the Notre-Dame Cathedral, the City Hall, or the Municipal Theater, you’ll see the care shown by Saigonese people in preserving their historic legacy. On the other hand, the Haussmann-style boulevards are typically packed with small motorcycles that make every street crossing a whole new experience.
Contemporary Saigon can be seen in places like the Bitexco Financial Tower, located directly at central Ham Nghi Blvd. Meanwhile, Saigon Center or Zen Plaza are some of its modern shopping malls.
For a look into Vietnam’s recent history, don’t miss the Reunification Palace or the War Remnants Museum. A sunset visit to the 23rd September Park is the best way to mingle with the locals.
Indulge yourself in one of the 5-star Ho Chi Minh hotels, or stay in a budget hotel at Pham Ngu Lao Street. Don’t miss the Ho Chi Minh City accommodations on Booking.com before arriving at Tan Son Nhat International Airport!

I paid for a couple of things by credit card and I was told if I paid cash they would give me a discount but when I refused the discount and put the charges on credit card they charged me an additional 3% on top of the regular price. This is dishonest and not right. Also there were cock roaches in the room crawling up and down the walls. Also the A/C did not work very well and my room was over 80 degrees. All in all it was a terrible place to stay and I would not recommend it to anyone.

Heavy traffic. Beware of motorcyclists!
Heavy traffic. Beware of motorcyclists! They want to kill you on or off the street and on pedestrian crossings!
There was a very good restaurant near Ben Thanh market. Specialised in broken rice. Pricing was very good.
Well worth the experience, but note the traffic warning

Great location and impressed with the development of Vietnam...
Great location and impressed with the development of Vietnam since 1975. A lot for locals to be proud of. We visited Ho Chi Minh City/Saigon twice, as well as night bus to Nha Trang (great experience and comfort), Dal Lat and Da Nang before returning to Saigon. Enjoyed all but stand out was seafood buffets and lower prices in Nha Trang, slow pace and very reasonable prices (always negotiate price discounts) in Da Lat and Da Nang/Hoi An tours and sightseeing as well as seafood and local food was great. Amusement parks in Nha Trang and Da Nang - you need to see (impressive). We plan to go back on a future trip. Noisy and smog from 8-10 million motor bikes in Saigon was an eye-opener. Rode as passenger to men's barber and safe return to the hotel. Glad not me driving. Ha

The city was buzzing and plenty to see all times of the day and night. Tour attractions were easily accessible with minimal planning and within suitable distances for half day and full day trips. People were happy and friendly . We loved every minute and would definitely take a short break there again.

Great trip - like many I've done previously. However completely spoilt by the last two nights stay@ one of the apartment @Landmark81. Mould around the kitchen sink to a/c vents, washing machine broken & dumped next to balcony, lounge has many soiled marks & hole, holes on curtain and many more etc... overcharges room rates & no responses when followed up with both Booking & agent for apartment.. A serious mis-representation for this particular listing. See some of the pix I took attached

Apart from few tours outside Saigon City (such as wetlands, Tunnels, etc.) and the Saigon river to be seen on board a boat, the city doesn’t offer many sightseeing.
Many hookers noticed too.
In general the city was found safe and no danger encountered.

A new modern hotel in an excellent location, District 1, close to places of interest.
Our bedroom was large, it had a king size bed and a great walk in shower. It was clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for you.
The roof top bar has a great view over the city and was a nice place to have a drink in the evening. The hotel’s restaurant was excellent.
Hotel is near airport (around 20 mins in VN traffic). Nice business hotel lobby with good space for driver to wait. Room was clean and decent. Distance from District 1 is quite far in VN traffic. Around the hotel, nothing much in the area. For business visitor, this hotel is ok but if you are a tourist, you will probably find this district boring.
Perfect location in District 1(city center). Breakfast was good, room was clean and good size. Very helpful staff. It is a small hotel but it is a good value for the money paid and I can recommend it for a stay as a tourist 2-3 nights.
Thank you.
