I don't understand who are the people who voted the Phu Quoc to be the second beautiful island after Maldives. It is not even close to the Maldives. Only hotel areas where each hotel take care of their beach. In the bushes lot of trash and public beaches lot of trash everywhere as well.

The Phu Quoc night market was interesting.
The Phu Quoc night market was interesting. And some of the places we visited along the coast provided free loungers on the beach so we gladly gave them our custom because it was well worth it. The relatively new Sonasea complex needs some time to develop and could feel a bit like a ghost town. We stayed in 2 different places on the island and the second one Bauhinia resort was by far the best of the 2. When we were in the centre of the island it was very easy to walk to places and the grab taxis are very reasonably priced. Lots of hotels offer bike hire too.

It was a very diverse, magical place with lots to do . The locals were very friendly, helpful and polite. Weather was good even with some rain and one thunderstorm at night. Taxi's very reasonable. We hired a driver for whole days and only 400 000 dong for the day. Food interesting but lots of variety. Great for seafood Cocktails and beers cheap but need to look for best places. The attractions are a must. The cable car and Vin world are brilliant. We booked from Liby travel and I would recommend her. Grand world is also very good. Any public bus is free , we used number 17 bus which took us to Grand world and back approximately 45 minutes each way. Find a location by the beach or nearby, book only a few days before you arrive. When you arrive negotiate the price for longer stay, by offering an advanced payment in cash you could get a much better cost rather than paying per day. If you want secluded, romantic or relaxing holidays then you are in the right place, otherwise go somewhere else. Don't expect much in terms of communication and hospitality from the locals, all they really care is your money, you will realize it when they have nothing to gain from you.

I cannot recommend this hotel enough, hoping to stay there again.
