We enjoyed the location (going to the beach, watching local’s life, visiting the school next door). But the best were John and Veronique that were super friendly. They also helped us arrange transportation to the volcano. The food options are limited but always great! Veronique really makes it look great too. The breakfast was plenty and yummy. And we enjoyed the bonfire at night.

It was an unforgettable experience! The bungalow in which we stood had the most beautiful view I've ever seen. Mike and his family did our best to feel well received. The food was delicious. When you come here, you have to expect a genuine experience and a living in the jungle. You must really be lovers of nature. Mike has organized a beautiful trip at a reasonable price to Port Resolution, white sand beach and to the volcano Yassur. You can reach a short 10-minute walk to the river and about 30 minutes to the volcanic ash field. The road is easy and very beautiful. We felt all the time safe. It is the best accommodation if you want to sleep close to the volcano. We would like to go back. Thank you Mike!

One of the best experiences I’ve had! The location is very remote but with a beautiful view of mt yasur. You hear the volcano erupting a few times per hour, a very special experience. The place is run by five brothers, they all try their best to make your stay unforgettable and to show you their culture. I’ve learned so much during my two nights here and it was hard to leave this place. Everything can be easily organised, I did the sunrise hike to mt yasur and the kustom village which I can recommend. Transport from the airport was also easily organised and not expensive (I paid 2500 Vatu one way for a shared ride, it will be more if it is just you). I travelled alone and felt safe the whole time. If you can, please bring some school supplies for the local school, they have a big shortage. Unfortunately I didn’t know this before I came but hopefully some people will read the review and can help out. Thanks again & I will be back!

Beautifully maintained gardens, very welcoming staff. Had some of our best meals in Vanuatu in the restaurant. Very relaxing atmosphere and snorkeling and diving was amazing.

Joel and his famile are the best hosts! So friendly, warm and welcoming. They can help you arrange airport transfer, visit to the mountain, cultural village, cannibals, etc. All at great prices. They can cook lunch and dinner for a small fee and provide free water all you can drink. The treehouse is amazing with the best view. Location is great and very close to the visitorcenter and the ash plane (15 min. Walk). You can even see the volcano from the balcony and hear it’s roar. We were their very first guests and really enjoyed our 2 night stay. They are working hard to improve everyday but the basics are in place. However, there is no electricity so bring a full powerbank and a headlamp.

William, Tom (our driver) and William's family were exceptional hosts! Tom drives carefully and skilfully over very rough roads. You can hear the rumble of Mt Yasur from your accommodation, and it is only a 20min drive away. William organised a diverse and flexible tour itinerary for me at a very fair price - even snorkelling at Whitegrass and visiting Tanna Coffee after check-in when my flight was delayed by 3h. The accommodation is 1h 30min from the airport and the main tourist strip, but you get the chance to observe life in the villages of Tanna. Accommodation is basic, but it is comfortable and William provides solar lights and a battery at night to charge your devices, and even WIFI on request.

Boasting a bar, Rocky Ridge Bungalows is set in Tanna Island. With garden views, this accommodation provides a balcony. The holiday home has family rooms.

Fantastic cultural immersion, living in a small rural community. Dicksen and his family were really friendly and helpful. Location was great with views of Mt Yasur from our balcony. Lovely walks to waterfall and ash plains. A great off the grid experience, bumpy ‘roads’ no power and sporadic water supply, perfect for 2-3 nights to interact and learn local traditions. Food was plentiful, freshest coconut I have ever had, literally straight from the tree. We were able to stop on the way from airport to get fresh fruit, bring bottled drinking water too.
