A classic in Luganville since 1975, Hotel Santo Vanuatu is a family-run hotel with a relaxed retro feel, and casual and unpretentious island service.

We liked everything in the room with pool view. It was clean, comfortable, the water was hot, fridge and everything in good condition. Everyone working here was super nice and helpful. I don’t get most of the negative reviews, especially for the great price. No better place to stay in Luganville!

Barrier Beach Resort offers accommodations in Saraotou, 20 minutes' drive from Santo Pekoa International Airport. This beachfront property features an on-site restaurant.

The property is beautiful and quiet, with spacious huts and plenty of privacy. Nice views from the restaurant terrace. Fantastic and easily accessible corals in front of the property. Staff is very friendly and helpful. They arranged several amazing day trips for us. The restaurant has an amazing cook who cooks excellent meat dishes as well as Italian and Asian cuisine. The best we had in Vanuatu in 2 weeks - by far! We had to stay an extra night because of flight cancellation and the manager was very welcoming - even making sure our room was ready again when we returned. We were very happy to stay that extra night! Highly recommended.

Food was great, staff were friendly and the location was amazing. Being able to kayak to the blue holes right from the resort was amazing.

La Maison Hebridaise in Luganville provides accommodations with a garden, a bar, and a shared lounge. This guest house features free private parking and a shared kitchen.

A nice respite after a week of travelling. Very clean house and spacious bedroom, the balcony has an amazing view, overlooking the sea in the horizon. Bernard is such a hospitable host and his home-cooked meals were excellent, I ate and rested so well there. I had an issue with Air Vanuatu (good to have more buffer between international flights as last min flight changes seems to be a norm with this airline) and Bernard patiently helped me out with it, much appreciated! The house is in a nice local neighbourhood (nice field behind the property) with the airport and amenities of the town centre close by, it’s perfect as a base to explore Santo.

Santo Seaside Villas is a sustainable villa in Luganville, 6.3 miles from SS President Coolidge. This property encourages guests to embrace nature with its eco-friendly arrangements.

Our host Esline was super nice and kind, giving us an upgrade and inviting us for a delicious dinner prepared by her. The housekeeping lady Lina and his family are so nice and sweet and they made our stay amazing. Ginger the dog is very nice too :) the rooms are clean, spacious and well equipped, right in front of the villas there is a nice and accessible spot for swimming (there is a wreck too), when the sea is calm it is a nice place to snorkel. Thank you! Giulio and Lisa

A great place to stay ! We had such a blast staying at Aore breeze. The caretaker Russell, boat drivers John and Rosian and the truck driver Tony really made our stay on the island to be so much fun and full of laughter!

From the moment we were met at the airport to the personal farewell from the owners, our stay at Aore Island Resort could not be faulted in any way. The location is perfect paradise. The staff friendly and attentive. The food was excellent with a varied menu. Snorkelling in the clear waters directly outside our fare was exceptional.

If you are going to Santo, I would not advise to stay in Luganville but rather a resort on the East Coast. Not much happening in Luganville and not close to any of the attractions. If you want a rental car, book it early and preferably a 4WD as attractions are via dirt roads and lots of potholes.

To be fair on Luganville we were there for one day on a Sunday so everything was shut. But our room wasn’t an apartment so we couldn’t even cook noodles or anything, we literally ate crisps for dinner that night. I didn’t feel safe at night in Luganville. It’s way more rural than Port Vila. But it’s right where the boat to Ratua Island is which is why we were there. However I hear the rest of Santo is incredible. I just didn’t get to see any good parts of Luganville.

This town is small and just developing so is not very touristy which suited us fine. This part of Vanuatu is quite poor so facilities are not five star in most places. We enjoyed this, expect activities to be guide expensive, but worth it.

Rent a car and visit the Island. Santo has so much to offer. Millenium cave is a must (you need to be in a good shape but this is very good.) Going up north to Champagne beach, Lonnoc Beach, etc.... Turtle Bay Blue Holes are worthwhile also... great time there. We never saw so many turtles when snorkeling People are very nice and friendly

Our trip was a bit too long since we only dived Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. The weather was good the first three days then it rained and no Sun for three days. Five days would have made it for us. Remember there’s a plane going firecylindrede from Brisbane on Tuesday.
