Offering a swimming pool, a restaurant and a bar, the 2-story Hotel Santo Luganville is just 5 minutes’ walk from the local bars and shops. All rooms offer a patio or balcony. Located in Luganville, 1.6 miles from SS President Coolidge, Aore Breeze has accommodations with a private beach area, free private parking, water sports facilities and a terrace. My wife and I had a wonderful time at Aore Breeze. The pictures aren’t lying, the beachfront is really amazing! We had such a fun time, just snorkeling at our beach and exploring the island a bit. Ishty was a great host, he assisted us a lot during our visit. The cabin is well equipped, with a nice cool breeze going through the house all day. I especially liked the large deck and the nice bathroom. We would definitely go back and spend some more time here next time. Would recommend!
Santo Seaside Villas has garden views, free WiFi and free private parking, located in Luganville, 6 miles from SS President Coolidge. Awesome place stay. Had a great time and we had a wonderful tour along the East Coast of the island organised by our host. Thanks so much!
Featuring a balcony with sea views, Aoredise offers accommodations with direct beach access on Aore Island, opposite Luganville. Aoredise is a very special part of the world. Stuart and June have created paradise on Aore Island. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. They really have thought of everything. We feel very fortunate to have experienced Santo and Aore Island with Aoredise as our home base. Can't recommend highly enough. Such an awesome experience. Thank you.
Mahimahi Villas features an beautiful beachfront location. These self-contained villas offer free WiFi and BBQ facilities. Guests can enjoy sea views from their private terrace. Jim was an excellent host. He provided us with extras such as transport to and from dinner, a welcome happy hour, kayaks, wine, snorkel gear, freshly made breakfast rolls, and good conversation!
Set in a beautiful waterfront location, Turtle Bay Lodge is a 20-minute drive from Luganville and a 25-minute drive from Santo-Pekoa International Airport. We loved the friendly, helpful staff and the facilities and atmosphere. The drop dead stunning view and idyllic surroundings would be hard to beat. Snorkelling, kayaking to the blue hole, and just relaxing and taking in the view were our favourite activities.
On average, 3-star hotels in Luganville cost $102 per night, and 4-star hotels in Luganville are $161 per night. If you're looking for something really special, a 5-star hotel in Luganville can be found for $365 per night, on average (based on Booking.com prices).
We did a World War 2 tour which was amazing as the place is full of history. Definitely visit Champagne Beach and the blue holes. Tu restaurant in the town is beautiful as is the rainforest Restaurant at Coral Quays resort. we did tours which cost about 14,000 vatu for 2 for the day. Local are so helpful and friendly.
We did most of points of interest, some were better than others. Had to be careful walking on the footpaths in the Main Street, as there were lots of trip ups and places you could hurt yourself. There were some. Ice coffee shops we enjoyed.we had to get taxis for all excursions, with fees to enter some places could make trips a bit costly.
Luganville is a good place to stay and do activities such as diving, tours etc from. There is no beach in town, but it isn't far to travel to one for the day. There are a couple of good places to snorkel at out near the Clam Garden and tours that can take you to private islands. Has a mix of restaurants at the resorts to eat at for dinner and some nice coffee shops during the day. One of the advantages of staying in town is that you can try a heap of places and not just reliant on one resort restaurant. If you ask around different ones do specials/theme nights etc Deco Stop has Friday night specials, Coral Quays has curry nights etc One of my favourites is the Waterfront Cafe owned by a local lady - the place is always clean and they have very good specials for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Easy to get around Luganville with a taxi costing only 200Vt and they will take you anywhere in town. Interesting mix of Chinese shops to browse in, a few Mama's shops and the local market and the Kava Bars are good fun, especially the ones on the waterfront. I travel here a bit and often spend both time in Luganville then a few days out of town at a beach resort. Best of both worlds. Luganville isn't a luxurious tropical paradise as it is the main port town for Santo, but it does have a certain pacific charm and the people are lovely, there is a lot happening with upgrades etc so am sure it will continue to get better services.
This place had much to offer. each day was planned and used to the best of time. Diving, cave adventures, bush hiking, blue holes, many dining options, markets and the friendliest of locals. Great place. Dining at 1606 and Espiritu Hotel was excellent Diving with Aore Diving Adventures was easy and exciting Tour Bookings with Mayumi of Wrecks to Rainforests was most useful and helpful
Luganville has a relaxed laid back atmosphere and the locals are very friendly. Most of the activities and things to do aren't in town, but it makes a good base to do things from. Taxi's and buses are cheap around town. Agree on a price with the taxi before getting them to take you out of town, where they are taking you and for how long. They sometimes have different ideas as to what is interesting or what you would like to see. All good fun. A really lovely cafe owned by locals called Water Front Cafe has great food at a reasonable price. The tourist resorts and motels are more expensive for food then Vila, which is surprising as there is vast array of fresh organic produce available in Santo. The markets and the Mama's handicraft stalls are interesting to visit. The Chinese shops sell a mixed array of items, bit of fun to have a look in. LCM the supermarket has a small range of local vacuum packed organic products that you can bring home - vanilla pods and paste, kava, pepper and coffee. By the looks of things it is gradually growing, just hope it doesn't loose the atmosphere and laid back Pacific feel it has now.
Luganville is an old colonial town that is run down, but there are signs of rejuvenation. There are great places to stay. To eat there are a number of choices like Friend's Cafe, Attah and Natangora Cafe, but if it is hot, try The Tu, where you can eat and swim! For a cheap ni-Vanuatu run eatery where you can get Santo beef steak, fish or pizza, try Waterfront Cafe. The best thing about Luganville is as a base to experience all Santo has to offer...great snorkeling and diving, ridiculously blue clear water, amazing blue swimming holes, village tours and the Millennium Cave and Canyon experience. The drive up to Champagne Beach and Port Olry should not be missed...it is worth staying up there for a few days.

Nothing except leaving the last day Probably the guys for the diving. I have asked some informations to one of them. He was friendly and nice to explain the Coolidge Dive. Now if I was not so upset with the hotel and staff approach I would have booked with them but I have decided to give as less as I can to them so I have booked with another diving centre. Anyway they look professional and somebody was going with them.
