Amazing room with a view like never seen before, Lovely outside fireplace area and bar. Maans and his lovely wife Andreana hosted us most of the time and became like friends! They made us nice food, helped us with arranging a drive to the river with Jackson, who was very friendly and helpfull as well. Lea helped us check in and out and made a great meal the last evening. Everything was very clean and we enjoyed the honestybar and the fresh cold water we got on arrival. Surrounded by African bush, Tutwa Desert Lodge offers accommodations in the Greater Augrabies area between the Green Kalahari and the Orange River. What a fabulous location. The pictures don't do the location justice. If you are looking for a luxury lodge in the desert which also happens to have 27km of orange river frontage, then you should go here. We will be back for sure. We even managed to see a leopard on top of one of the mountains overlooking the location.

Located 8 miles from Augrabies Waterfall, Orangeriverguestfarm offers a shared lounge, a garden and accommodations with a patio and free WiFi. Die personeel was baie vriendelik en behulpsaam. Ons voertuig het gebreek net toe ons daar kom en hulle het baie moeite gedoen om ons te help met vervoer na die valle en ook terug.
What I liked about the place was the absence of crime. I would have liked a bit cruise and a game drive but that could not happen because of the high level of the river and damages of the floods. I wish that information could have been provided then I could have planned better.
We have never been to the Northern Cape including the Augrabies Falls. The reason for the visit was to specifcally see the Falls as we knew the Orange River was flowing strongly. We arrived at Avonsrus and used the Lapa Braai area to cook supper. It was easy to get to the Falls as the turnoff to Avonsrus was on the same road that takes you to the Augrabies National Park. As this was our focus and had limited time we didn't explore the rest of the area. Looking back I wish I had planned an extra day or two to explore Augrabies and its surrounds.
An amazing site with so much more than just seeing the falls! Great park, walking areas! I was super-surprised to find that Augrabies gave me more goosebumps than either of Niagara and Vic Falls! It probably varies with river water level, but is an amazing sight - or that should be sights, make time to walk the paths, specially the canyon trail and see other special sights like the Twin Falls. We should've stayed a few days, and in the park itself, one day/night's not enough at this special place! Note that time of day (i.e. sun angle) will make a big impact on your viewing experience. The viewpoints are all on the southern edge of the canyon, so you need to take sun in your face into account - another reason to stay inside the park and view at different times of the day!
The sheer volume of water that goes through that waterfall is awe-inspiring. The viewing points are well positioned and the walkways there are well constructed, we could push our daughter's pram on them. We were day-trippers and the highlight of the trip was coming across a convoy of new model BMWs under camouflage.
A visit to Augrabies Falls was worthwhile albeit very hot. For SA citizens entrance fee was nominal . Water flowing over falls at rate of 65000 liter per second was great to see. Would have been nice to have shady seating for relaxing
Great bird life seen when on the Orange River trip. Stayed at tutwa Dessert Lodge and loved every minute. So relaxing that we couldn't be bothered to drive out and see Augrabies Waterfall! Roads around the area are generally good - bigger car makes the roads more comfortable

Great place with extremely friendly owners, we enjoyed communicating with them. The house with a garden is located on outskirts of Augrabies village. Got advice on different places to visit in the region, including not well known destinations, like the Karsten date farm at Klein Pella, near Pofadder, located in a very scenic area.

The food was absolutely great. The setting and surrounding is stunning. The atmosphere at dinner was that of a typical farm community getting together and having fun. This was one of the most pleasurable stay-overs we've ever had. It's also within a few minutes of the Augrabies falls -- which is why we were there.
