We loved the nature, the fresh air and the lovely team. Everyone was helpful and truly made this holiday special. We had initially only booked for 2 night, but ended up extending our stay for 1 more night. We highly recommend that anyone passing through Caledon stay at this lovely guest house!

Location was perfect for a drive between Cape Town and Mossel bay, after my 14 hour flight landed in Cape Town around 4pm. Quiet, comfy, clean place to sleep off the first of the jet lag! And I have to rave about the gorgeous Clevia's lining the path to the room! GOR.GEOUS!!!

The people make the place. They Quote at Rouxwil 'Come as guests, leave as friends'. It is entirely true. With all the personal attention, no one could do it better. It was wife's 50th too. They just made the day for us! The place is beautiful with endless green slopes all around you. The rooms are nice, big, luxurious and well maintained and stocked. The food is handcrafted and lovely! They give you great guidance to explore around the place. If you want an idyllic holiday away from it all while being really cared for- this is the place to go!

For visiting the hot springs it is good, however it is expensive and you are better off staying in an Air BnB near by and visiting the springs in the day time. Bedrooms lack privacy and are prone to noise from the outside and neighbouring rooms well into the evening.

We chose the route via Caledon, to Chelsea Flowers at Stanford, rather than the usual route through Hermanus. Beautiful drive through valley from Caledon to Stanford. Best in Caledon was dinner at The Barn Restaurant ... don't judge a restaurant by it's front door!!! It's a gem: extensive menu, generous proportions, friendly service, quirky ice buckets! Shop for personal essentials was easy to find. Spa and Casino at Caledon Hotel were of no interest to us. Flowers weren't open on the overcast day.

I was born and raised in Caledon and liked being back.

I was born and raised in Caledon and liked being back. It was just as I remembered. The beautiful mountain views, the town surrounded by farmland is an experience in itself. It is a quiet town and close to other towns like Hermanus, Gansbaai, Grabouw etc. I would recommend staying in Caledon as well as a visit to the Caledon Spa with its natural hot spring.

When you drive into Caledon you think you are just driving...

When you drive into Caledon you think you are just driving into a working farming village (which it also is) but it also has so much more to offer. Its a great stop when driving from cape town to the garden route, close to hemel and aarde valley and to hermanus. The town itself has beautiful botanic gardens, a big spa and casino, you can do quadriding and also worlds longest zipline is there! We loved our stay at the Caledon Grace Guesthouse- a wonderful Victorian home from the 1850's- in lush gardens where we could really relax after all this roadtripping.

Very nice room with beautiful view.

Very nice room with beautiful view. The hot pools were lovely, but the upper ones not very well marked. I had Sunday lunch in the restaurant, and breakfast also there and both meals were very good. The dining room is spacious with a lovely view.

We went on our honeymoon, and we are still raving about that...

We went on our honeymoon, and we are still raving about that breakfast ... the sauna and steam rooms are my very favourite and there's a gym!!!! My new favourite place to visit. We took a walk down to the little shopping mall every day and enjoyed that exercise too. The venue is amazing, and you will enjoy every minute.
