Such a wonderful experience hosted by Alex and Pierre , the most welcoming couple ! The TPs are so well kept and kitted out with a sofa and little clay wood burner to keep you warm at night , there are plenty of place to braai and the shared kitchen has got everything you might want. Everything about this stay was so thoughtful and done so well, we also did the mushroom foraging and we HIGHLY recommend it ! Thanks guys

Absolutely love everything about Hogsback! Breathtakingly beautiful. Great places to eat! It's very sad that the gravel road leading to Hogsback is in a terrible condition! It could hinder people from visiting. A plan should be made, urgently!

Relaxed vibe, but we did not expore the art galleries. Enjoyed the walk to the 800 year old yellowwood. The Arboretum is also a must-do. A lot more can be done to make the place tourist-friendly

The town is small but you need a car to get around as its...

The town is small but you need a car to get around as its uphill and the roads are pretty rough as the roads are dirt roads; ideal place to hike and also Mtn Bike. We were there during the Open Garden weekend. What a treat. Def going back for more next year. No seriously this little place is a must visit in SA

The scenery is out of this world with a number of walks...

The scenery is out of this world with a number of walks ranging from easy to pretty difficult. If self catering, There is a well stocked Spar in the village. Saturday market under the oaks was pleasant with some of my favourites. Yummy home made Nougat and Home made cheeses. To appreciate Hogsback and all it has to offer you need more than just a weekend.

Although raining most of the time and muddy we were able to...

Although raining most of the time and muddy we were able to visit the aboretum when the skies cleared for about an hour. An amazing collection of old trees and a little birding was done. The road from the north is in a bad state and would advise the long route from the south to approach the town. Will visit in better weather conditions next time we hope. The main road in town also needs grading .

Loved the magical environment. Quaint shops.

Loved the magical environment. Quaint shops. People friendly. Good walks. Enjoyed the Parkrun - highly recommended. Enjoyed the walk around the Arboretum and walk to 39 Steps waterfall and Kettlespout waterfall. Many more walks we could have done. Enjoyed the labyrinth and Viewpoint from The Edge Mountain Retreat. Enjoyed chocolate and coffee tasting.

The accommodation was modern and very clean. Staff were fantastic and oh so helpful. Was in a accommodation in Hogsback the previous night and was not impressed. Arminel was far better and even cheaper. Wish I knew that before I booked the other accommodation. Will definitely come back.

Couldn't ask for more! We loved the peace, the beauty around us. The gardens are very beautiful and well cared for. The cottage has everything needed. It was magic! We had delicious coffee and scones at the restaurant. Would return any day! Hogsback is just amazing !
