EVERYTHING. The scenery is absolutely to live for. A perfect tranquil space. The cabin provides an escape you didn't know you needed. The Chalet is perfect for group of friends. The place has a walking route inside where you can just take that walk and get more oxygen. If you love tree, peace, tranqulity and nature, your next stay should be at Maple Grove. Don't look anywhere else for accommodation in Hogsback. The Arminel self catering units are perfect! Great restaurants in close proximity - Happy Hogs, Red Clay Cafe and The Edge offer very good food. The Spar is well stocked for essentials. Hike to the 39 Step Waterfall and the Madonna and child water fall are both spectacular. The Madonna and Child walk isnt long, but its very steep and the path isnt well maintained, if you are going with young children or older members, be prepared for a bit of a challenge, but it is well worth it! The Edge has incredible views! Pack warm if travelling in winter - the mornings and evenings are delightfully crisp! The Saturday morning market was charming, be sure to check it out. You wont regret a weekend away to this incredibly enchanting village!

Hogsback is a lovely little town but the roads are atrocious...

Hogsback is a lovely little town but the roads are atrocious. I would definitely not go again unless I had a bigger car. The walks are not great in that the upkeep is sad. We found so much refuse at the Madonna & Child example and the walkways are broken and dangerous. Elderly people definitely should not go on the walks except for 39 steps which is easy and average maintained an d The Edge is lovely.

Absolutely love everything about Hogsback!

Absolutely love everything about Hogsback! Breathtakingly beautiful. Great places to eat! It's very sad that the gravel road leading to Hogsback is in a terrible condition! It could hinder people from visiting. A plan should be made, urgently!

Relaxed vibe, but we did not expore the art galleries. Enjoyed the walk to the 800 year old yellowwood. The Arboretum is also a must-do. A lot more can be done to make the place tourist-friendly

The town is small but you need a car to get around as its...

The town is small but you need a car to get around as its uphill and the roads are pretty rough as the roads are dirt roads; ideal place to hike and also Mtn Bike. We were there during the Open Garden weekend. What a treat. Def going back for more next year. No seriously this little place is a must visit in SA

The scenery is out of this world with a number of walks...

The scenery is out of this world with a number of walks ranging from easy to pretty difficult. If self catering, There is a well stocked Spar in the village. Saturday market under the oaks was pleasant with some of my favourites. Yummy home made Nougat and Home made cheeses. To appreciate Hogsback and all it has to offer you need more than just a weekend.

It was a challenging drive to the hotel due to the conditions of the roads, but once there it was magical. The staff were lovely, the room was spacious with a beautiful deck and a hidden garden. Breakfasts were awesome. It is a great place to hike and walk, I felt very safe walking on my own on the Bluff. I can't wait to go again.

We had a lovely stay. It was chilly in Hogsback, but we had the beautiful antique fireplace, heater panels and electric blankets. There was amazing attention to detail, and quality furnishings and appliances. We absolutely loved the private deck and our little cabin in the woods! Thank you Lindsey and Pete, we will be back!

Awesome rustic wooden cabin on a homestead nestled in the forests of Hogsback, surrounded by nature. Very good for the body, mind & soul! Our host, Morné, was fantastic, very communicative and informative. Loved having all the geese, ducks, chickens etc. roaming around, as well as Lisa, the 'good girl' 🐾 on the property.
