United KingdomPhyll was the most amazing host..we had a lovely cottage to ourselves with all the mod cons..dishwasher, washing machine, gas and electric stove and microwave. We had home made biscuits waiting for us and the most beautiful views. It was very peaceful and relaxing and would highly recommend.

United KingdomSuch a homely, unpretentious and genuine place to stay. Down a long (ish) farm track off the main road, settled in a quiet and beautiful garden, this is the best place we have stayed so far on our trip. If you want 5 Star bling and marble bathrooms stay away. But if you want to feel welcome and need a few days to unwind and relax in a homely atmosphere with a lovely host then this is worth seeking out.

What a pleasant stay it was!
What a pleasant stay it was! We experienced a peaceful atmosphere from the start of our stay and received warm hospitality on arrival and throughout our one- day stay.....we would have loved to stay longer. We have already recommended the Sheeprun Farmstay to our friends. We hope that everything will stay the same...never change !

Since several people had explicitly advised us against driving via Mthatha, we took the R56. This road was trouble-free and the stopover in Maclear totally OK.
The receptionist fumbled a bit, but was very charming and friendly.
The room was spacious and well-equipped. The bed was comfortable.
Dinner could be had on site and that was a good choice. Breakfast was also absolutely fine with plenty of choice.
Parking was safe in the enclosed grounds.

It was the best furnished room ever. Such attention to details and cleanliness are hard to fine even in 4-5 stars hotels. The property is owned by a family who are so passionate about making you feel welcomed and comfortable. High quality delicious meals in the restaurant. Very filling tasty breakfast in the morning.

Excellent stopover on R 56 in Maclear. Everything works exceedingly well, from the room to the staff to the breakfast.
