Amazing service people attitide. I have not received so overall information from the room what I received veru friendly staff member @ Lanzerac. Spa was amazing and they do have real sauna there at the spa. Only one comment about the sauna, that you should have Finnish sauna stove and not Swedish because Finnish sauna companies makes the world wibe the best sauna stoves. But still I did really enjoyed this sauna experience in South Africa Stellenbosch. Views was amazing at the pool area to see winery fields. Restaurant top of the Wine cellar was amazing and those waitresses was amazing indeed. I really recommend Eggs Benedict there and with the eggs benedict couple wine glasses. What an amazing experience in this place. This was real sanctuary!

It offers sights, food, art, entertainment for all ages and individuals types, if you not enjoy or finding what you like, walk a street up you will find it. There are areas that are not car or parking friendly, find a secure place to park and walk the remainder. once out of these areas then you are free to proceed with your car. Just plan ahead. Be aware of local sporting events as this changes the dynamic of the street and party life, good for some and a disadvantage for others. It is what you make of it. Area has adapted well to local power interruptions, yes you will hear the generators and some lights (not critical) will not be working, but sales and functions remain after a short switch to backup power.
We ended up spending time in Franschoek and Elgin as well as the outskirts of Stellenbosch. We did not spend a lot of time in Stellenbosch proper, as it is a larger city, and found the smaller city of Franschoek to be more intimate and inviting. Stellenbosch is where the Dutch began wineries and Franschoek where the French Huguenots began wineries. (The Huguenot museum in Franschoek is worthwhile) There are multiple wineries to visit and several have beautiful gardens as well. Babylonstoren is one with an extensive garden. Most wineries have tasting and/or a restaurant with 3-5 course meals. We visited in the fall and had no issue showing up without reservations for tasting and a charcuterie board, however, for a meal, reservations are expected and most wineries close by 5pm. Dalwood Farms is between Stellenbasch and Franschoek and makes and sells wonderful cheese. totally worth a stop to their store. They do not have tours, but the cheese is worth the drive. Elgin is a colder region which specializes in wines that come from cold region grapes. It also has orchards which are beautiful and if you like cider, there is both fresh and hard to choose from there. In Elgin a must see is the Elgin Railway Market.
Stellenbosch is an absolute gem of a town. It feels like a place in Europe like Amsterdam or Nice. The restaurants are amazing. We ate at the Fat Butcher (incredible) and an Italian bistro called Rome in a Bite. Both meals were outstanding. We stayed at River Manor Boutique Hotel. The room was awesome, the facilities were world class and the breakfast was sublime. I just want to live in Stellenbosch now.
Everything is walking distance which is really great. There were many restaurants to go to however if you do not book in advance then you will not be able to get a table. I would have liked for there to be more activities available for us to do instead of alot of wine tasting.
Stellenbosch is such a beautiful place with an amazing scenery. We went to the Brenaissance wine estate for a wedding and it is arguably one of the best places to have a wedding. The view at sunset was amazing, they had this really cute chapel as well and amazing seating area for the reception dinner. We also visited the Delaire Graff for some wine tasting and i can say it was another beauty of its own. i must say it is not easy to get around Stellenbosch so best to rent a car or contact a driver we used on +27610596674. He was really good picking us from the hotel we stayed to the Delaire Graff and back into Cape Town.
It is one of the gems of Southern Africa, which is why so many European foreigners have a second home here for their winters. The wines, the mountains, the people, all add up to something brilliant and unique. Especially the old wine estates with their rich histories. Home of the Cape-Argus, the Two Oceans Marathon, and not too far from the Comrades, which brings you to the question, what other sport needs a World renowned scenery like this? There must be more.
Stellenbosch
It is the perfect hotel in the city center with a Stellenbosch spirit. The hotel building's architectural style and garden are very beautiful. The staff is so kind and helped me with my trouble. You can reach any destination from the hotel. Don't worry about the famous South African electricity blackout because wifi works always and there is a big power bank and a flashlight in your room.
Stellenbosch
MolenVliet is somewhere quite special. If you want to spoil yourself or someone else, look no further. Everything is really quite luxurious, from the breakfast in the morning to the walks around the estate, the pool and its 'honesty' bar and the view and their black book of restaurants. It's near Stellenbosch, but do check out Faber at Avondale for a treat.
Everything was exceptional - your staff are to be commended for there fabulous service. We enjoyed all our meals. The location is perfect - right in the heart of Stellenbosch amongst gorgeous restaurants and shops and in walking distance of all the sights! Parking was also great - safe, secure and convenient. Thank you Stellenbosch Hotel!
Stellenbosch
It is a beautiful hotel, inside and outside. Our room was spacious, with beamed ceilings and beautiful wooden floors. Comfortable beds and we slept well. Despite the central location, the street is quiet. Next door to the hotel Stellenbosch best restaurant De Eetkamer, that was a jackpot! Bonus - safe parking included and across the street.
This property deserves its distinguished reputation. It is a premier destination in Stellenbosch. I would recommend this hotel for many reasons. The dining was exceptional, our room was beautiful. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. The service and hospitality were perfect.
The big plus of the spier hotel is that it is on their own wine farm. You can go on picnics, go to the restaurants, do wine tasting, go swimming, go to the spa, there is an abundance of activities to do. Plus the close proximity to stellenbosch adds to the list of todos.
