The place has changed dramatically over the years and not necessarily in a good way. The new houses are all massive and it is very overpopulated. The beach was a big disappointment due to the severe mass of debris, like plastic etc. that washed up from the ocean.

Great to visit Yzerfontein.

Great to visit Yzerfontein. Had a good morning on the beach, walking about the town and going to the harbour. Enjoyed swimming in the icy ocean. Could have had an extra day to visit some of the restaurants and stores. We stayed a few kms out of town, but next time will look to stay on the beachfront or nearby.

had the best time at De Vuurtoren. The place looked even better in person than in the photos. The decor was beautiful, calm, and inviting, and you can tell how much love went into setting up every detail. Everything was spotless and well maintained, which made the stay feel easy and comfortable. The owner was lovely. She was kind, warm, and went out of her way to make me feel welcome. You don’t often meet people who care that much about their guests, and her energy made the whole experience even better. The atmosphere was peaceful, and the location was perfect for a quiet getaway. Mornings were filled with light and fresh air, and the evenings felt calm and homely. The bed was comfortable, the space was relaxing, and everything worked perfectly. I didn’t want to leave when it was time to check out. It’s one of those places that stays with you long after you’ve left. I’d recommend De Vuurtoren to anyone visiting Yzerfontein, it’s a place you’ll want to come back to.

Great views of beaches and sea.

Great views of beaches and sea. Great location for seeing several really beautiful sites with abundance of colourful nature. Hardly anyone else at each great site we visited. NB be prepared to park off road and walk. Weather was great for walks.

I recently visited Yzerfontein, and what a lovely surprise it turned out to be, The town has such a peaceful charm, and the locals were genuinely warm and welcoming. Strolling along the long, quiet beach or grabbing a coffee at a crazy cafe, there's a sense of calm and friendliness everywhere. A hidden gem by the sea - Yzerfontein

My stay at ON BAKOOND in Yzerfontein was simply fantastic! The accommodation was impeccably clean, stylishly furnished, and offered all the amenities one could wish for. The location is perfect, just a few steps from the beach, allowing for wonderful walks and breathtaking sunsets. The host was extremely friendly and accommodating, making my stay even more enjoyable. I loved every minute of it and can highly recommend ON BAKOOND for a relaxing and unforgettable stay. I will definitely be back!

Absolutely Perfect Getaway Spot! We had a wonderful stay at Salt Bungalow in Yzerfontein. The place was spotless, well-maintained, and had everything we could’ve possibly needed for a comfortable stay. The host was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made us feel right at home. It's private, peaceful, and surprisingly budget-friendly given how much it offers. We loved the attention to detail and the overall vibe of the place. Can’t wait to return – highly recommended!

The location is absolutely astonishing. The host, Francois, understands hospitality and the little details and value-adds for travellers were met and superseded. We will be back at Yzerfontein and call on Orca House when that happens.
