We were looking for a place within walking distance to a neighboring village for two couples, and this was perfect accommodation for our needs! Upon arriving we got a small tour and keys from the lovely hosts, after which we had the whole bungalow to ourselves. Even in the summer heat it was easy to cool the temperature down inside thanks to multiple windows & doors that could be opened. Bathroom and kitchen facilities were more than enough for our use, and drinking tea on the private terrace at night was the perfect way to end each day.

The location was perfect and the property was absolutely beautiful, really really clean with everything needed. It was a decent size 2 bedroom house which was perfectly furnished with a beautiful garden. It was good value for money. I would definitely recommend and stay there again

I'm writing a review because the owners went one step further than they needed to. I did not meet them but everything I asked online was answered quickly and the entry code was sent on the same day as promised. (Do not get mixed up with the Booking.Com Pin code which confused me). Coffee, tea, milk sachets and condiments were all on site but the surprise was that they also left some biscuits, crisps and croissants which they certainly didn't need to do because the price was extremely fair for such a nice property. Well worth a stay and the pub is virtually next door.

This was such a charming little home! The furniture was very comfortable and the host left us complementary cookies for our tea (also complementary) - both were delicious! The koi pond sounds of bubbling water provided a nice white noise while sleeping.

We had a wonderful stay at the cabin. It was both clean and comfortable, making it a perfect base for our visit to family in the area. The grounds were stunning, and we especially enjoyed walking around the farm and feeding the animals. It was the highlight of our trip. We will definitely stay here again.

The house was very modern, clean and comfortable. The garden was big and with the added bonus of the hot tub which was so nice and relaxing after a day exploring. The communication from the owners was great. Every little detail was covered. Fabulous location.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Whittonlodge while celebrating my brother’s stag weekend. From the moment we arrived, John and Kim made us feel incredibly welcome – they are genuinely warm, friendly, and attentive hosts who go above and beyond to make sure everything runs smoothly. The accommodation itself was perfect for our group: comfortable, well-maintained, and spacious enough for everyone to have their own space while still enjoying time together. Whether it was relaxing in the hot tub, making the most of the BBQ, or having a laugh around the pool table, there was something for everyone and it really added to the whole experience. Another big highlight was the location – it’s only about a 12-minute taxi ride into Chesterfield, which made for an outstanding pub crawl. The locals there were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which just topped off an already brilliant weekend. What really stood out, though, was how available and helpful John and Kim were throughout our stay. Whether we had questions, needed recommendations, or just a bit of guidance, they were always on hand with a smile. Their hospitality truly made a big difference, and nothing ever felt like too much trouble. I couldn’t recommend Whittonlodge more highly – it’s a brilliant place to stay, and we’ll definitely be back in the future!
