The TV offers a wide variety of movies to enjoy. The dining area is right next to the house, which is very convenient. The cook and the host are both kind and take great care of guests. The breakfast is simple but delicious and very fitting.

Lily at the Mutianyu Homestay was an incredibly warm and welcoming host. The room was clean and cozy, and the location—just minutes from the Great Wall—was unbeatable. Her and her family are so lovely! She and her husband cooks the most amazing food and he dropped us right at the entrance! They were very helpful towards my family member with mobility needs. Highly recommended for a peaceful, authentic stay!

First of all, the owner is really helpful and friendly. The location is great, just a few minutes to the Mutianyu Great Wall main entrance. The room is good with mountain views. The food at the guesthouse is tasty 😋 The owner helped us book the ticket and drop-off at the main entrance. After we came back from the great Great Wall, the owner also pick up us at the main entrance back to homestay. They are very kind, allowed us to use their kitchen facilities (we cooked thai food), and we had so much fun conversations with the owner in the kitchen. I saw many cooking techniques from her, really skillful 👍👍 She cooked Gong pao chicken, fried rice and stir-fried tomatoes with eggs for our dinner. I really love it, it was a tasty local food. And the food is more yummy when we can connect to local people and feel all local senses. The next morning, she cooked dumpling with eggs and vegetables for us....yessss it was yummy 😋. Upon checkout, she walked to the bus stop with us and waited until the bus arrived, I really appreciated it. Pity, this time I stay here only one night. I definitely come back to this place as I have a plan to visit Jian Kou great wall. And of course, I will stay at this Homestay again. Thank you so much for such an amazing hospitality. Located in Simataicun and only 31 km from Great Wall of China - Simatai, Simatai Great Wall Dexin Folk Restaurant provides accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. We were extremely happy with our decision to stay at this lovely family-run accommodation. The hosts were exceptionally kind and helpful. We were welcomed with warm smiles and a basket of fresh fruit, and on the day of our departure—when we were running a little late—they even offered us a free ride to the bus station. Such genuine kindness truly made our stay special. Our room was spotless, beautifully decorated, cozy, and perfect for a good night’s sleep. The beds were very sturdy and comfortable. The whole place has a peaceful family-home atmosphere, and it’s clear that the owners take great pride in keeping everything clean, comfortable, and welcoming. The property is set in a quiet little village with a couple of nice family-run restaurants just a short walk away. It’s about a 20-minute walk to Beijing Wtown and the bus station along a quiet paved path by the river. The walk is lovely, with beautiful nature views, and there’s even a small riverside park with towers and sculptures that light up beautifully in the evenings—great for photos. If you prefer not to walk, there are plenty of Didi drivers available at any time, and the ride to the accommodation costs only 10–14 RMB. For travelers coming from Beijing, I highly recommend taking the direct bus, which costs 48 RMB per person and takes around two hours to reach the Water Town Bus Station (cash only). The bus leaves from Dongzhimen Outer Bus Station (东直门外) at 09:00 and 13:00, and returns from Water Town at 12:00 and 17:00. Just wait beside the brown signboard that lists all departure times. Beijing Wtown itself is absolutely stunning—full of canals, traditional architecture, small cafés, restaurants, and even boat rides that glide through the waterways, making the whole place feel like a fairytale village. In the evening, when the lights come on, the scenery becomes truly magical. At 20:40 there is a drone show with the illuminated Great Wall in the background, which is unforgettable.

Set 27 km from Great Wall of China - Huanghuacheng and 44 km from Ming Tombs, Mutianyu Great Wall Jingshan First House Boutique B&B in Mutianyu Village offers air-conditioned accommodation with views... We stayed in the family room, which was gorgeous with a hanging bed, hot tub and projector. There was a terrace with views of the Great Wall. The owner was incredibly friendly and helpful, even driving my family to the Great Wall entrance.

Situated within 26 km of Great Wall of China - Huanghuacheng and 43 km of Ming Tombs, Yue Tong Farmer House features rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Huairou. We loved our stay at Yue Tong Farm House. The couple was so kind and helpful and made our layover in Beijing worthwhile. They picked us up at the airport, made us a delicious dinner, the room was big and clean (mattress is a bit hard though), cooked us another delicious breakfast in the morning and took us to the great wall afterwards. In the end picked us up again and drove us to the airport. Everything went flawless. Although neither speak English, the translator does the job and the smiles do the rest.
