If you want to stay in this village (probably because you want to visit the Great Wall) this is the place to be. Tasteful interior, large, bright and quiet rooms (Deluxe category we stayed in) with a comfy bed. Very good food for dinner and breakfast. It is only a 5min walk to the Great Wall cable car. The hosts arranged our tickets for a 8 a.m. start which is highly recommended to avoid the massive crowds a few hours later. The genuine hospitality of the family running the place makes the difference.

We went here for one night with my husband and really enjoyed the time spent here ♥️ The host is super friendly and caring, we checked in in the evening and we're immediately greeted with water and all necessary supplies. The room was really comfortable, and the window view was just great: mountains and river 🤩 The bed is really nice to, we had a great sleep. The breakfast was amazing too, we had tasty dumplings and tea. I totally recommend this place!

Difficult to find the location for foreigners and even for our cab driver. The owner went to receive us at the street to make sure we did not miss her. We had the top floor. Awesome with the jacuzzi and cinema projector. Very spacious. Owner was very friendly and helped us with the tickets. Even drove us as VIP at no charge to the entrance of the Great Wall (as we had limited time due to forecasted rain).

We had a fantastic stay at the Badaling Hotel — it felt like home the moment I walked in! David and May are incredible hosts who truly care about their guests. We originally came to see the Badaling section of the Great Wall, but it was packed with tourists — there was already a queue from the cable car! Thankfully, we decided to book a tour with David, a true history lover. He guided us to a hidden section of the Wall with absolutely no other tourists in sight — peaceful, breathtaking, and unforgettable. Later, he brought us to a local farm where we enjoyed a delicious lunch made with fresh, local specialties and even visited an ancient Stone village where we tasted "warrior liquor." Truly the highlight of my China trip! Don’t miss the chance to take a tour with David if you want the real Great Wall experience.
